Don't know much about AKB48 girls but Maeda always struck me as a beautiful girl. She has a pretty unique face in my eyes.

Sunday shows are usually a drag but OOIOO was incredible as expected. They played mostly stuff from Gamel even though they didn't have a gamelan with them. Understandably difficult to tour with.

So, I want to buy my father a ゲスの極み乙女。(Gesu no Kiwami Otome) album for christmas.

I was leaning to Watashi Igai Watashi Ja Naino having the superior title track.

Is there any obvious GOAT tier release from them? I would like to make a choice based on a short listen, but japanese music gonna japanese, so no idea where to find short samples or anything to get an idea.

This is just a single (with 3 coupling tracks), the title track will be included in their upcoming new album. Release date is January 13th.

So far they have 1 full album and 3 mini-albums. I'm a huuuuuuge fan of the band since their birth so it's a bit hard to pick one, I love everything they do. I guess their full album Miryoku ga Sugoi yo would be a good starting point since it covers pretty much everything they can do.

Well, actually a lot, but I'm taking the safe route because he overheard Watashi Igai Watashi Ja Naino once and liked how it sounded (specially the voice of the guy).

He is into 60s american rock in particular, but he enjoys tasteful rock in general, but I like showing him groups a bit out of his comfort zone (culturally or sonic wise). Last time I gave him a THE KOXX (korean band) album, and he was pleasently surprised.

I have one of your post with recommendations bookmarked, just in case I decide to go deeper in that route (I personally like how some of them sounds).

^^ I saw a translation for that clip on Stage48 but I can't find it anymore. Something about Sayaka crying and the others were telling her to stop because it looked bad(?) and asking the news reporters not to report it the next day lmao.
(Information may or may not be correct as I can't really remember what I read)

Seeing the clips, Kojima still stands out as one of the prettiest AKB members, her instagram confirms these thoughts.

Akimoto Yasushi (AKB's creator) has mentioned that he's received an offer by the Mexican government to set up a Mexican version of AKB. Is there a market for an AKB-style group outside of Asia?

One of the best releases of the past 10 years in my eyes.
Hoshino Gen truly is a genius. It's way more upbeat than his previous works, he managed to craft some of the finest pop tunes you can find. His hit song SUN as well as tracks like Crazy Crazy gave him a new dimension. It's a new Hoshino Gen you'll discover with this album and I'm loving it. Seems like recovering from the illness totally changed his way of composing.
It still has some slow and chill songs like on his previous albums but this time there are way more dynamic and joyful tunes and it's perfect.
So happy to see that it's selling like hotcakes, he deserves it.

I've recently gotten into Emi Maria and ugh In Your T-Shirt slays so much.

I'm also a big fan of Flower, though less so recently after Kyoka's departure. Having only one vocalist is meh, as much as I like Reina.
