Can't wait for LiSA's new album "LiTTLE DEViL PARADE" which comes out on the 24th.

Which lines up with my birthday thanks to timezone difference.

Nice! I ordered her dual Blu-ray concerts from Yokohama Arena (Sun & Moon) as they took place the weekend after I left (I booked my JP trip before she announced the concerts so I didn't know...) but I also have the LOVEBITES EP on order due to be released on the 23rd so I have them shipping together from HMV. You can't add to your order from HMV once it's placed so I was going to order LDP and maybe something else... maybe the Mary's Blood Blu-ray?

Glad that there's finally a PV for LOVEBITES on YouTube so people can hear their stuff and they included English to appeal to foreign fans... alas it's region blocked in the US due to YouTube Red:

Man I'm still pretty lukewarm on Tricot, but on the other hand I want to support Japanese music when it comes to the country because the Czech Republic generally always misses out on those artists. What to do what to do?
Listen to them until you're converted.

Go to the show anyways. They're amazing live and they may very well convert you.

Anyone else listening to 9mm Parabellum Bullet's new album? I haven't seen it brought up here and just wanted to comment that it's amazing and any fans of the band will love it.

Pre-ordered the new Tricot and got the shirt + poster + vinyl combo. Not a bad deal for $32 + shipping. Really excited for this one.

Also, the latest Perfume Blu-Ray with English subs is shipping end of the month. Not that I need subs for Perfume, but I figured any international sales helps the smaller companies get more opportunities to release stuff.

Edit: just realized I haven't posted in here since forever... Hey guys haha

Why did you think they weren't good anymore? They've been getting better and better, no drop in quality.

I found the last album supremely boring. Like, it was extremely polished, but the energy of their older releases seemed completely gone. This is especially evident in the one song they pulled from Minna Normal, which to me was way worse than the original.

But I remember saying that back when that album came out and everyone called me crazy, so I don't think my opinion is a common one. Regardless, the new single reminds me a lot of the first couple of EPs, when a lot of their songs were boisterous and they had those goofy spoken-word interludes between songs and Mari and Ikoka actually sang parts other than backing harmonies.

You should check out the new album released this week then

Yeah, I was all ready to give it a pass and everything (in fact I didn't even realize it was already out) but I might pick it up anyways the next time I order some CDs. It would be nice to be back on the Gesu train.

(and also if someone could remind Passepied how to be cool again that would be lovely thanks)

The Mirraz are releasing a digital single every saturday this month.
Two of them are already out : D.O.G. is G.O.D and レゾンデートルの存在理由 (Raison d'être no Sonzai Riyuu), both songs are pretty amazing.
Wonder how much content they'll release this year, they already released two full albums since february lol Wouldn't be surprised to get a third one, or a mini-album later this year.

Unrelated, a couple of indie bands I'm rooting for this year, all of them seem to be gathering a little bit of hype so I hope they'll hit it big soon. Quite a few of them are from The Ninth Apollo (or labels under their umbrella) actually, which might be my favorite indie label now.

Damn good. Wouldn't be surprised to see Suchmos's popularity helping more "chill" bands like this (well that song is quite dancey but you get the idea).
KANA-BOON kinda launched the upbeat/uptempo rock boom in 2013, guess Suchmos is in the same position.

Damn this sounds amazing. While the previous album, Eve, wasn't bad at all, it didn't come close to Blueprint released in 2015 which my be their best work. This is a strong contender though. Veeeery excited.

Who are everyone's favorite active artists/bands?
To name a few:

D
Versailles
Boris
Melt Banana
Envy(apparently they are active again!)
Moi Dix Mois
Hiatus
Tricot
Nocturnal Blood Lust
BAAL
An cafe
sekai no owari
Satellite Young
KANA-BOON
One Ok rock
Mucc
Merry
Man with a mission

Thank you Kansoku and Kurita! I did appreciate both your lists :)
I just didn't get a response from most of the regulars.

I dunno if I count as a regular, but for my part I actually had a hard time coming up with a list. Feels like most of the people I used to be into, I'm much less so now (daoko, Passepied, Gesu, Capsule) or else the artist is no longer active (Especia RIP). At this point, my list is basically:

tricot
iri
a bunch of OMAKE CLUB stuff: Tokyo Health Club, MCpero, Yosa
Chelmico

I fall in and out of love with Suiyoubi no Campanella, but they could still make the list; SUPERMAN was pretty good. But that's kind of it for the moment. I'll probably find people to fill the list again, but it's a bit of a dry period for me and Japanese music, and lately I've been catching up on western music again.
