Jeff Gerstmann's new project revealed (Giant Bomb)

I'm thinking of starting a gaming blog. I'll probably call it "DontClickRefreshCauseWeProbablyWontBeHereThatLong.com"

@m0zart:

The sections for Wii, PC, DS, and PSP will appear as we cover games on those platforms. We just haven’t written about any of those yet. Our first DS-related item will probably be a review of Professor Layton (which I still need to write).

So let's kill all that "Gerstmann is teh bias!" nonsense.

Oh shit.

Then what could he be butthurt about? Someone please tell me I don't know. :(

I cant remember any controversial sony reviews but he did do two things that probably pissed alot of sony fans off. One, in Gamespots unveiling of the PS3, he looked at Resistance for two seconds and then walked off saying he was going to go play gears of war. Two, a couple of days after Home and LBP were unveiled Gamespot had their "Things that would make the PS3 worth buying" article in which he basically said that no one would use Home for anything besides porn. The guy was definitely a bit of an ass. Im not sure if he was more of an ass to sony then the others though.

So far it's looking promising. With the exception of that awfull logo. Gamespot is and has been dead to me anyway and even though I don't always agree with Gerstman's reviews I atleast enjoyed him on On the Spot and the podcasts. Here's hoping his website will grow to be one of the big boys and (wishfull thinking) replace Gamespot.

There we go!!

I'm not butthurt over any of his reviews. He's just never impressed me in any way, despite being in the biz for so long. Plus I read some rumblings about him being prone to shitty behavior in general.

It's like the guy getting fired is somehow proof of him being a bastion of journalistic integrity, which seems like premature thinking.

agreed. And my boycott of gamespot has acutallyu been one of the few in my life thats been successful, as usually im always tempted to visit a site but i havent since everyone left.

it's sad what happened to him at GS

however, he's still the guy that gave State of Emergency a 10 in graphics and 8.5 overall...

The lack of a DS section is what really kills the site for me, mostly because if i want Wii reviews i sure don't go reading Gerstmann.

looking good. awesome video :lol

just shut up. his quote is already in this thread, the ds/wii whatever sections aren't up simply because he/they haven't written anything for those platforms yet

Pretty much sums up my feelings. Plus, and I know this is going to sound shallow, but I can't stand looking at the guy much less listen to him - and his video reviews are one of the things people liked watching! I could tolerate it if he had something meaningful (or at least entertaining) to contribute but it's the same as 98% of what's out there.

I missed that post.
Well, let's wait for his Layton review then.

Knew we wouldn't get through this thread without the obligatory "jeff is fat" comment.

thinking more about his health than his appearance actually.

He was already big, now gettting bigger + a non-active job = possible health problems that some simple cardio could help counter act

I like it. It's not anything particularly unique atm, aside from those video features which I have to admit I didn't look at. But I trust the guy and it seems like the might be cooking up something interesting.

Actually, compared to when I last saw him in person (admittedly almost 2 years ago), he looks like he's lost weight. I watched the "Building a Giant Bomb" video and was all woaaah, where'd his thighs go?!

The abdominal weight takes a while to lose... I oughta know, I've dropped like 80 pounds over the past few years and I STILL have a gor damn Santa belly.

What a terrible name. The site could be dedicated to terrorism, fecal humor, or Heavenly Sword.

You say that, like it's a bad thing.

It sounds really cool. I hope it works out great, but im wondering if this site can stand out from the crowd. i dont bother visiting 1up, gamepro, and so on...

its all the same. no, I want something cool. snappy, and great videos is what is needed.
