Not sure if I could trust this or not...

Who's Eyeroll? Unless he's new to the Internet and doesn't know how to emote properly.

Btw Gies, eyerolling is for 14 year old schoolgirls chewing gum.

Dude, at this point, with all the bad information snowballing, there is absolutely no reason MS would be holding back any potentially good press.

What if there is no potential for good press? Wouldn't they want to hold it back as long as they can and just impose an arbitrary embargo? That explains why all the journalists are frustrated. It makes no sense. It explains the "truth to power" and "they can't win" comments.

You need HDMI to get 1080p on the 360, it wouldn't do 1080p unless it went through HDMI. Component only went up to 1080i or 720p

I don't think you can get 1080p through a console on a TV with component.

That's incorrect. You can definitely get 1080p through component on an Xbox 360 it just depends on whether or not the TV can accept a 1080p signal from component.

I live in Brazil but it is true in others countries? You can't cancel preorders 10 days before the release?

Here we can even cancel the orders after receive the product... you needs just to sent the product without open back and after that the company will refund you.

That's called sarcasm. You can cancel it in the US right up until before launch.

Yeah I can see this happening as well. They could have simply mandated that no reviews should be out until 10 days before launch. That would have nothing to do with resolution. Could just be an arbitrary mandate.
It means reviews go up just days before PS4 launch and if the reviews are favourable then people looking to buy a console from the store on day one might go 'oh I won't buy that PS4 out in 2 days I'll get the Xbox One, look this review just posted says 9/10 for that game it has'.

Only thing I could think of that isn't a negative on the console but a business decision by MS...

Maybe the decision to hold Xbox reviews until PS4 nearly launches is meant to keep as many people in limbo and from switching to PS4 as possible initially. With the PS4 sold out by the time they can make a decision, the Xbox One will be there waiting unsold with open arms.

Yeah, but what happens when the next wave come? Will the issue be fixed by then?

My English sucks (2nd language) but I can't wrap my head about those Gies tweets. Is he saying that MS is in the right here? That they shouldn't confirm the resolution, to not lose sales?

people, 10 years life span isn't meaning 10 years before PS4.

PS2 lived a loooong life after PS3 was released. PS3 will live some more after PS4 is released
Indeed. I actually wouldn't be surprised if the next year or two is the strongest time for the PS3 all generation. They are down to a mass market price that could very drop even more next year, they are still supporting the shit out of the console like they always do, the back catalog is gigantic and amazing, and it is still one of the best Blu-Ray players you can buy. The PS3 will easily have a ten year lifespan, and it will most likely ultimately outperform the 360. I also think that the positive buzz around the PS4 will drive sales of the PS3 even further, and if MS drops the 360 even close to as fast as they dropped the original Xbox, the PS3 will be the only cheap console on the market.

If CBOAT ever spills publicly what s/he shared via PM regarding a myriad of other technical issues going on right now...

I'm going right back in that shelter and welding it shut.

A myriad of technical issues ... Are we looking at something to do with overheating here?

Does the Xbox not have any software scaler? I realize it isn't native but it should bridge the gap some. That said it is pretty evident that just like this gen choosing ms over sony for multiplatform this gen I'll be choosing sony.

You can cancel preorders 10 days before release. Note the double quotes in his comment. He is imagining and quoting what would have possibly happened in the MS boardroom that resulted in the embargo. He is trying to point out how stupid it is.

A lockup here and there isn't the end of the world. But if they know that the Xbone is prone to major failures (like RROD or YLOD), they should talk.

That's not really a fair thing to ask someone.

Not necessarily. A contract becomes invalid when it asks you do something unreasonable (or illegal) in the eyes of the law. If there was information out there that said the XB1 will basically be a useless brick come launch and will cause material harm to consumers, you'd be fine with making that information public. There are a lot of 'journalists' in the industry right now that aren't under NDA that have important information. They just refuse to share it out of fear they will be blacklisted.

The industry has never had a 'fuck this' moment as a whole, where everyone just decided to do the right thing. Now is a good opportunity.

Again, not really a fair thing to request of someone. That's a real slippery slope, and that's a massive court battle. You want to pay their legal fees?

Aren't you contradicting the post I quoted?

I was saying that the silence and possible embargo from MS is a bright fucking beacon pointing to the fact that all the rumors have been true, and the XB1 is severely lacking when compared to the PS4.

Question for you, what's your take on X1 multiplat games having lower resolution than PS4 versions?

It's the product of corporate meddling and a rushed product at this point. I can't imagine some developers being very happy about it, especially when their tools are still a mess as well.

I think it's kind of ass that no console company nowadays can make a device that wouldn't come into release hotter than Natalie Portman in her teenage years.
