Joe Montana Football 16

Don't have an XboxOne and my PC is in disrepair.

The details seem fake to me because of the amount of justification that takes place for presenting the information. Poor us not being told anything but luckily we have this guy to come to the rescue.

Haha, my friend had this growing up. I remember it being fun.

He also had a Joe Montana game for the Sega CD. And it had this awesome Ask Joe feature where if you didn't know what you should do next you'd ask Joe for football advice. After you selected it, you'd have to wait about 4 minutes to get a 6 second video of Joe usually suggesting that you pass the ball.

What are the odds that both the NFL and the NFLPA argued for a first party by pass for video games when it comes to their exclusive licensing agreements with EA?

I would be interested to know if anyone can substantiate these claims, because the self-important attitude of the user who posted these leaks was a bit over the top.

the timing would make sense though. Unveil it at E3, and release the game separately and with a bundle in July. Undercutting Madden 16 by a month

Not likely considering that the NFL has said that they're happy with their relationship with EA. But even if they did, why would MS be the one to take them up on that offer? They're going to market two football sims over the course of a month, one of which is being made with the intention of killing the other?

Sega was a licensing crazy fool back in the MS/Genny days

I remember when they scrambled to get a Buster Douglas game out as quickly as possible just for the bragging rights of having the guy that beat Tyson (Nintendo), and then when Evander Holyfield beat him a few months later they signed him up and gave him his own game too

So is this why EA was so quick to put Madden 15 in the EA Access Vault? Kinda like "Please play Madden pretty please!!"

It's a much different era now. Back then MS wasnt particularly close with EA.

EA ain't exactly lighting it up right now, and even Madden is down. I think people do pay attention to removal of features and yearly roster updates in their sports titles.

That being said, mobile is money. Does MS want to invest in such a specific shrinking market?

I want to kick the source of that 'leak' in the teeth. How am I supposed to sleep with this erection?

Oh god the memories just came rising back. I had that Joe Montana Sega CD game. It was pretty bad.

Anyone like grains of salt, and taking things with them?

Source, take it or leave it, I have no skin in this, someone just linked to it in a Reddit thread.

That would be interesting, but it seems pretty far fetched. Their tech videos look fantastic though regardless.

The one part I would really hope for is if it's getting made for Windows 10 is that it's not just cross-play, but cross-buy between PC and Xbox. That, and coming out in July, so it will be out before the next Madden. Would be the perfect time for a Madden competitor to come out.

I've been on OS for the past week or two (can't remember when the "post" was posted) and honestly every day I've been checking Damon Grow's twitter and that Operation Sports thread for news. I'm very intrigued by what the game could be. I don't exactly believe the leak or anything, but I definitely HOPE it is true. I want me a new PC football game.

I don't know who Joe Montana is and the only sport I follow is MMA.

BUT

This thread is exciting me because I do enjoy me some NBA 2K and Madden is shit.

EDIT: Wait. Xbone/PC only?

Fuck this shit
if it's real.

Let say all this is true, the leaks and the clues left by Grow and whatnot.

It is absolutely brilliant move by Microsoft. The first-party clause for making an NFL game has always existed, but nobody has ever wanted to get in the way of the 800 lb gorilla that is Madden (not to mention all the money Sony and MS make off of it regardless as platform holders). That said:

People will still buy Madden on XBO. By the millions every year.

Joe Montana is a perfect representative to start a NFL video game franchise around. John Madden hasn't been involved with the NFL in like a decade or longer since he retired from broadcasting. Millions of players don't even know what he did for the NFL or CBS and only know him as "the videogame guy". Joe Montana isn't a broadcaster or a studio/network guy, he's just a great representative of the sport to young and old alike.
