Happened in 2000 when someone in Washington D.C. sent in a blank ballot due to the lack of legislative representation for the city.

Wouldn't it be wicked cool if electors didn't vote the way their state did?
Well, yeah, it would be, but most states make their electors take an oath to cast the vote for the person who won the popular vote in their state. They're pretty much picked by the party, anyway. I'd hope that the state parties would be smart enough to pick someone who wouldn't vote the wrong way.

But stranger things have happened.

having electors has got to be the dumbest system ever.
they should just have it be an automatic system, if they want to retain the electoral college idea.

People love nostalgia. It's pointless and sometimes scary and bad... but people love it. *shrug*
