Both are badass in their own way and not afraid to admit that I and about 99% are pussies compared to these men. That was an unreal way of life. There were no hospitals for everyone who didn't live in a city , 911, GPS, etc. Besides that often times medical treatment itself was deadly. Back then if you ran your mouth or looked at a guy the wrong way, that was your ass. These guys shot first and didn't care to question. So who is the better Cowboy?

Arthur, but didn’t mind playing as John in the post game stuff in RDR2. Playing as Jack at the end of RDR1 was painful, hated him so much.

It's just a better written character imo, not that John isn't great, but Arthur is another level, and RDR2 is one of the best stories in gaming ever created so.

Arthur is an amazing character, incredibly written and acted, just all around one of the greatest protagonists. But so is John. In my opinion John Marston is a better cowboy.

Also, at the end of red dead 1, I hated playing as Jack, like most people. At the end of red dead 2, I loved playing as John, and many others did as well, or at least most didn’t mind.

Exactly, it really didn't make sense at all. Very unrealistic and inauthentic character for the time period, and he was one of the aspects that made the game so progressive - especially compared to the first game.
