JoJo's Bizzare Adventure does, in fact, date back to the 80s.

1986 to be specific.

Pretty good. He was just a young kid!

Not the finest moment art-wise for the Pillar Men.

The Pillar Men have flat booties confirmed. :O

my GF is literally just yelled at me cuz i was talking all about the pillar men. man she just doesnt how striking a pose is such an important part of JOJO. ONE TWO THREE POSE!!!!!!!

Damn, off topic (sorta) but I was looking at the prices of old French Jojo books on amazon, and the last Part 4 volume costs 225 euros!

Shit, I must have bought it for 6 euros back in 2005 and now it costs a fortune, they really didn't print many of them.

Liked the moments in the ed, though not a fan of the song choice or modifications. That was actually a really good episode. Ceaser makes for a really interesting character and the constant thing or perhaps budding rivalry or friendship led to lots of comedy even pushing Joseph to want to develop some new flashy move I hope. Restaurant scene jealousy and then the one in the plaza were some of the best moments in the anime thus far. Ceaser is quite awesome honestly.

Poor Mark there but the antagonists are also in some ways interesting too. I guess Im finally starting to see why people like the poses as the way they were on the statue and just there, even Ceaser at times too. Wham? seemed to make the statement that light wont work on them and for Santana even in the UV light he's still somewhat active, so I dont know how or whatever Joseph and Ceaser can do to stop these characters, unless theres some way to supercharge a ripple to some new level.

I'm trying to remember what Caeser did with the photo after he bit it. Did he chew the whole thing? Did he put it in his pocket? Did it vanish? 'Tis a mystery.

Episode 14

The posing. Oh god, Caeser added a new level of fabulous to this. I knew it was coming, but this is better than I could have hoped for.

Also, dat pigeon mouth.

This is so fucking great Joseph is reaffirmed as the greatest Shounen Protag of all time.

Also Wham!!!! my favourite of the pillar men this is so fabulous.

Episode 13-14

Took a while for me to catch up, but OH MY GOD! It's really impressive how faithful the adaptation is, especially as the series gets stranger and more disturbing in terms of the graphic violence. They're really handling the action in Part 2 in a great way. Episode 14 was a major pivotal episode too, and they totally nailed Caesar. The voice cast is probably the greatest thing about the series right now. Joseph and Caesar trading insults throughout the episode was sooooo enjoyable. The posing at the end of the episode? That's some comic superhero shit right there. Perfect. :D

Heh
gg are going with Khars and Esidesi, would've prefered if they went with the names as being bands tho

Well they're the official names, used in the official French and Italian translations. The names as literal bands is a fantranslation thing.

Are you telling me you don't like "nakama" and "ripple"?

Next thing you know you'll be calling Part 4 "Diamond is Not Crash"

These translation thing are stupid, If we use that then we must call Wham "Whamu" which stupid. Another anime just make joke you just remember stand/person name in jojo if unfamiliar with western artist, which is correct. so why we must avoid those spelling?

I like ripple, I don't use nakama.

Esidesi and co are the correct names.
Just because they don't mirror Araki's future naming of stands powers doesn't make them fundamentally wrong on a grammar level like "Diamond is not Crash".

Several professional translators in different languages came to that conclusion.

I really don't see what's wrong with Esidesi, Wamuu and Kars unless people think the reference is not obvious enough and should be extra obvious that yes this character is named after AC/DC.

Esidesi is "AC/DC", if you pronounce it right it sounds the same.

Can't we just let people use the name they're most familiar with?

Oh I don't mind people using the names they're familiar with, but I feel like people think "Wamuu and others are wrong, stupid names" when they're more correct names.
Also I don't like the idea that it's on the "lol keikaku means plan" level, it's not.
Just because the fan translated names are more popular doesn't make the original names wrong for some reason.Nobody calls Morioh Duwang.

The first Italian edition had Wamoo, Kars and Acideecy.
I like these.

The spelling is a bit different but it's pronounced the same, right?

The Italian reprint that is currently in progress uses Whamoo, Kars and Eisidisi.
Quite an odd change, it's like they changed from how you effectively pronounce AC/DC in italian to the same thing in english.

My personal judgment was that a) Araki doesn't give a shit about English spellings (we've seen Joseph Joestar, Josef Joestar, Joseph Joester, and Josef Joester out of him in the manga, and both Joseph Joestar and Joseph Joester in anime promo material) and b) Shueisha subsidiaries are just lawsuit-averse rather than acting on some sort of greater plan.

Are you sure you're not exaggerating a tiny bit, there? ^^;
I can think of two instances of "Josef Joestar" in the manga, but aside from that...?
And for the names we're talking about here, Araki/Shûeisha have been consistent.

Shueisha subsidiaries are just lawsuit-averse
Not very consistently so, then... More often than not, the spelling is identical.

Let just talking about how most group name "Caeser" was it the effect from those magz scan that call it so, and also spell "Joester" lol.

Let's look at the bright side. If they keep those names there's a higher chance the anime will get a western release than if it had to worry about any lawsuits.
