What actually happened is someone brought the exact same coffin on the cruise as Dio. It was super embarrassing so Dio absorbed him and took it.

Weird. I always thought there was two - one that Erina used to escape and one where Dio was transported from.
It wouldn't make sense for Dio to sneak on 2 identical coffins, both blast proof into the ship.
Hell he had enough trouble getting one on board the ship.

Of course Dio brought two coffins, one inside the other like a matrioska, for added comfort.

Erina then took the inner one because it looked all comfy, and left the uncomfortable, larger one behind.

You should learn for not justifying plot hole in jojo, or you just gonna take away your enjoyment for the series lol.

There's decent amount of thing like this that as or even worse later.

Or maybe Dio brought 2 coffins, 1 for himself and the other is for Wang Chan.

DTL does not disappoint.

Pretty sure it was Sugita, sounded just like him except...old. Never heard him do an old voice before.

I thought he didn't do it very well... Hopefully if they bring him back for the next season (assuming there's a next season) he'll have improved by then.

I always thought that at the end of part 1 after they found erina they just dropped the coffin to the sea, then Dio sneaked inside some years later.

I love how in a series that just ended with a guy protecting himself from lava with a thin layer of air bubbles only to get launched almost out of earth's gravity by a volcanic eruption, the final little bit of force required coming from being hit by rocks, we are arguing about coffins. The answer to all questions about coffins is that Araki's creativity outpaces his intellect. The guy is obviously not very concerned with making sense.

Also, why has nobody wondered why Dio's presumably sealed coffin sank when Erina could use hers like a canoe?

This also very true.

While he very prone for mistake, we also can't think how many stuff he can even thought of.. like what in frigging hell. There's reason why the series can survive for 25+ year, and arguably just hitting a new peak of popularity.

No, Dio just brought a spare coffin. Got to be prepared and all. Didn't the one Erina take not have Dio's name on it too?

Alliteratively, Dio just swam far enough down to not be hit by light, and built a new coffin under the sea.

I don't know whether I should wait until part 3 will be animated and follow it or if I should just try to find the manga and go through it instead. The ending was just teaseful and I really want to jump over to the next part to see what happens :/

The awesome thing is you can do both!

The actually great music and voice acting and just style of the anime keeps me from checking the manga out, I just feel it might be a step down and wouldnt really convey all the feelings of the franchise that I experienced :(

Interestingly enough as much as I love the anime, I still prefer the manga for part 2, sure this was a pretty faithful adaptation but something about Joseph in the manga just felt right..though maybe this is because it was my first exposure to the character.

Or Dio is really Aizen and everything was according to plan.

Episode 25-26 (END)

Wow, that was GREAT. Animation-wise I don't think anything really quite lived up to ep20, but the finale was still fucking amazing. Battle Tendency is the best Jojo because it's just so CRAZY all the way to the end. The parts which they did decide to do more animation for were great too. Really cool looking transformations. :D

Now all they have to do is announce Stardust Crusaders and we can begin the greatest whine battle ever between those who want to see the manga more faithfully adapted and those who think it is a waste of time to try matching the original OVAs! Looool.

I do usually enjoy reading manga and often like it more than the anime adaption but Jojo is one of those animes I've really enjoyed very much. I feel that if I read the manga now this same excitement I had for the anime will be gone for part 3 as I know what will happen in the story. The urge to read it is still there though, very tempting.

I feel the same about both parts. Having read the manga beforehand made me appreciate the anime even more for some reason, even though it was lacking in some areas. The problem with the manga is that after part 2 some of the translations are really really rough, especially Duwang is not Crash.

this thread is worth it for Dedication's hilarious contributions.

i finally got around to watching it. what a fitting ending. can't wait for part 3!

You clearly haven't been paying attention because we're already deep into "whine" territory and you even missed out on a third camp: those who say you should never the OVA's because in the end David Production's unannounced version will inevitably be better.

I can't wait for CG stand battles.

Oddly enough I tried watching the Stardust Crusader OVA about two years ago or so, and couldn't make it past the first episode or two. But I'm really liking this series.

Just watched the first OVA, and liking it. It's good that I waited and watched the first 2 arcs before watching these. Seeing flashbacks of the Dio/Jojo battle and old man Joseph is great, even the Speedwagon foundation gets mentioned

The caphair on Jotaro intrigues me. Oh caphair, you so crazy
