They only went and made that Darren Young storyline seem pretty good

Very interested to see if Darren manages to win the belt.

Posted this to MMAGAF, but wanted to share it with wrestling gaf too

In addition to being a solid chain wrestling hooker, Jack Gallagher is also an adept shooter with Ultimate credentials. Here are some of his fights

Does he has the Sage Northcutt gift of good genes or do you think USADA would snatch him up dream?

Going through old posts

I'm nothing if not consistent.

Like a broken record ;)

FWIW, Naito was already amazing before Okada even became The Rainmaker - things would've played out a lot differently if he'd never been injured, for sure. That being said, 2013 Okada (in spite of his deficiencies) was not only being presented as The Guy, but the fans were buying into it as well. Naito, as I'm certain I repeatedly stated, needed a lot of rebuilding for the fans to get behind him like that - three years later, and here we are.

Naito was kind of "eh" when he came back from his injury. At least to me. That was my first exposure to him. I guess it didn't help that he was having a bunch of matches with Yujiro.

Also the Stardust Press sucks. I hope he doesn't do it anymore.

He definitely wasn't ready for the big babyface main event push when he returned from injury - if he'd had a few months to prepare for the G1 that year everything would've been fine, but with some lacklustre performances during the tournament and that terrible run-in to WK, it's easy to see why the fans didn't take to him.

Sticking him with Yujiro & Tanaka was a huge mistake, neither was the guy to get fans excited about babyface Naito and it wasn't at all surprising that the fans turned on him. Comparatively, his recent run has felt much more organic and exciting and the fans have responded accordingly.

Naito was right place, wrong time for his G1 win. Wasn't even Top 5 best performers for that tournament plus it was one of the first major strides New Japan made with their foreign fanbase so this new audience were more won over by Tanahashi, Nakamura, Suzuki, Shibata, Ibushi and Ishii.

Ghostbusters was very fun, and enjoyed doing my part to further the sjw cabals agenda 4 wurld domination

Also CWC was very refreshing. Can't wait for it to really kick into gear in the next round.

MAKE BIG SHOW GREAT AGAIN!!! All it takes is one more Jerishow reunion. At next Mania have Big Show w/Jericho vs Shaq w/No Wey Jose or something

Yeah, saw that pop up and sounds like a good one.

Somehow managed to grab a front row ticket for the PROGRESS Christmas show, I've missed the threat of being crushed by flying wrestlers this year

Here's to hoping you get Big Dave Mastiff in a falls-count-anywhere match :)

How the fuck did ROH do nothing of note with Cedric Alexander, dude seems talented as hell. In incredible shape, talks great, sells well, gets the crowd on his side, nice facials yet I never heard anything about him. His match with Matt Riddle at EVOLVE was also really good.

Every time I've seen him talk in ROH he was awful. It was as if he was super nervous to talk in front of a camera and didn't believe a word he was saying.

Experience can only help though.

Oh God, EVOLVE and EVO and G1.

I have to skip out on EVOLVE sadly, gotta go home and visit the parents this weekend. Cleared my schedule for the G1 completely though. I'm even considering taking the first Sumo Hall day off so I can watch it live in the morning.

Yeah perhaps it was the magic of the pre-tape.

Lol! It's hard to believe that movie is almost 20 years old which would be almost around the time SF and yourself graduate from high school.

June 21, 1995. Did a double J strut down the aisle.

bjork did you pay off student loans or decide on something else?

I haven't done anything, just yet. I need to get to a day off so I can actually sit down and think about what to do. I'd really like to put some of that money to work for me, and slowly grow it, but I don't know enough about that stuff. So I'm sitting on it until I can study up and decide.

Enzo's kind of whatever

I fucking hate Cass though. This dude couldn't come off more like the John Cena/Roman Reigns formula. Except he's in worse shape than John and isn't handsome like Roman.

Cass is enjoyable, but he's so incredibly one dimensional. He's the definition of an 80s/90s big-guy wrestler, especially since they gave him the big boot. His delivery on the mic is also pretty bad. Still, I'd much rather him over Enzo.

The funny thing is people are swinging all over them, but if you watch their matches they're literally the same thing EVERY TIME. Enzo starts off, gets worked, tags in Cass, who then does a combo move, tags Enzo back in, gets worked even harder and hits Cass for the hot-tag. Every.single.match. They are 100% New Age Outlaws 2.0***

I know people want to hate on the Vaudevillians, but I think those guys offer more in the ring than E&C.

*** I feel this way about A LOT of matches right now in WWE. So many are just paint by the numbers (Cesaro especially).

This SWS card on the real hero archive looks dope

Bret Hart recently took offense that your rating in "WWE 2K17" was higher than his. How aware are you about any rivalries in the locker room between superstars regarding the video game?

[Laughs]. I have not heard that. I'm sorry, there was a report that somebody was upset that their video game ranking was lower than mine? I don't even know how that works to be honest but I suppose there is.

I see guys arguing about stuff all the time in the locker room and video game rankings would probably be part of that. I know that they are very competitive with each other in a lot of ways so it wouldn't surprise me. Trust me, the locker room can make anything a competition.

Someone should ask him why Vince was so adamant about him not looking weak in that one Smackdown game.

I'm really happy for Zack Ryder getting this title shot but at the same time, if Rusev actually loses cleanly to Zack Ryder of all people then he's ruined. I like Zack but at the same time I'm someone who badly wants Rusev being treated like a real roster threat and losing to some guy who was basically losing all his matches for the past four years isn't going to help.

The way I see it Rusev wins and retains, but Miz loses the belt to Darren Young.

So yeah looks like Chuck Taylor is in TNA. Did stuff taped for an upcoming Impact plus a One Night Only

Dude has been complaining for a while on his Twitter that he can't get booked with Evolve or ROH and that he didn't make the cut at his WWE tryout, so he kind of has nowhere else to go. The only other place I could see Taylor land would be DDT for its goofy matches or Europe, but he's not good enough to hang at the top of the cars on the Brit indies or WXW.

Right guy, wrong booking. I remember being really stymied that they'd give Naito the G1, and in retrospect it looks bananas because he hadn't found his true form yet.

I can't find any record of this "Bray Wyatt tantrum" - can someone fill me in?

The twitter one? Where he rambled that he was an innovator in the industry, and he'd argue without him no one would be #BROKEN in the first place

Bray Wyatt ‏@WWEBrayWyatt Jul 12

Love me or hate me, I am the single most creative thing this industry has seen this century. Constantly imitated, but there is only one me.

Bray Wyatt ‏@WWEBrayWyatt Jul 12

Lest we forget, without Bray Wyatt perhaps no one would've been #Broken in the first place. Go ahead LIE and say it isn't true

Bray basically didn't take the accusations that the New Day-Wyatt Family Compound Segment was a Final Deletion rip-off well and started claiming that they were doing all that stuff first.

Edit: Yup, basically what's said above.

This would actually make for a really good story. Miz, the guy who is the Hollywood star losing to a "nobody" who needs the help of an old man.

But of course I'm setting myself up for nothing.

The really odd thing is that for me I get the feeling Zack and Darren should switch stories. Zack lost the IC belt to Miz and seemed pissed at the Smackdown after 'Mania because he lost from distraction purposes. Rusev is basically saying 'fuck you, America' week-in and week-out and Darren Young is being "trained" by the All-American Boy and even his new theme song screams "patriotism".

Don't worry, I'm there with you. We can both get disappointed together.

I'm gullible enough that I probably am.

Big-E's reply was great though.

Big E is the best.

I still think the feud has some juice in it even if that segment was a bit...questionable.
