Predictions for Mitb:
Big Show wins briefcase. Daniel Bryan then wins The WWE Champ, but he get's the WMD from the Big Show before Bryan could even utter a yes. Big Show cashes in and pins Bryan. making Bryan the shortest reigning WWE Champ.

It would be a nice horrifying call back to TLC, but this implies Big Show has a chance to...
a) beat Cena
b) climb the ladder
Seriously if they don't bring back the reinforced super Show ladder i'll be displeased.

Sadly, I won't be watching the TNA PPV tonight. EVO has me in its clutches, and I don't want to be let go.

I am also still shocked that I'm actually saying that I'm sad to be missing something TNA-related. 2012, indeed.

Yeah but fighting games are fake.

Last year I bought MitB and that was the first PPV I bought in years.

A year later and now I'm considering buying Destination X. How times have changed.

I haven't watched Raw since 4/2/12 when Lesnar came back, and now I see 3 hours of raw commercial, WTF...like 2 hours wasn't bad enough already...I feel sorry for those who still watch Raw, the only time to watch WWE is January to Wrestlemania, after that bail the fuck out...

This is what I've been telling these guys but they won't listen.

Its maybe because Bishoff is keeping a low profile. the Hogan's are used as mentors. Open Fight Night every month and the TV Champion fights every week at best. Yes, Times have changed. They actually got the foundation set.

Its true and the ratings prove it over the last several years.

Their just milking what they can get.

Anyone post this yet?

Ric Flair will appear for Juggalo Championship Wrestling at the annual Gathering of the Juggalos weekend. It is his first wrestling booking after leaving TNA.

Credit: PWInsider

This will be so awesome. I'm not a fan of their music but ICP brings in everyone and seems to treat them right. The talent seem to enjoy themselves for the most part also. If they start throwing rocks at Flair I can only imagine the promo he will cut.

To all the Japanese wrestling fans in here, this is the big news story of the day
(yes, even bigger than the G1 Climax reveal)
.

Kota Ibushi Vs Kenny Omega main events DDT at Budokan Hall on 18th August!!!

Marking out! Should be fun!

Speaking of the G1, here's the blocks for the tournament;

Block A:
- Hiroshi Tanahashi
- Yuji Nagata
- Satoshi Kojima
- Karl Anderson
- Shelton Benjamin (ROH)
- Toru Yano
- Yujiro Takahashi
- Minoru Suzuki
- Naomichi Marufuji (NOAH)

Block B:
- Togi Makabe
- Hiroyoshi Tenzan
- Hirooki Goto
- Tetsuya Naito
- MVP
- Rush (CMLL)
- Shinsuke Nakamura
- Kazuchika Okada
- Lance Archer

And I just realised, we're going to get to see Shinsuke Nakamura vs Kazuchika Okada in a battle to see who has the most swag in all of wrestling
(pro-tip; it's Nakamura, but it'll be interesting to see if the Rainmaker can rise to the challenge)
.

They won't - Flair will be treated like royalty. One thing about Juggalos is that they revere wrestling, especially types like Flair.

Also, exactly how fucked is RoH? Things sound bad.

Is tonight Booby Roooo's first defense that isn't Hardy/Anderson/Storm/RVD? A Double vs Bobby is the freshest match up for Roooo's reign in 6 months. Pretty excited for it.

When I've seen videos of the wrestling shows at the gathering the wrestlers are constantly being pelted with bottles of soda.

Things aren't good for ROH at the moment, but I don't think they are anywhere near as bad as the doom and gloom merchants are making out. It almost seems that some people can't wait for the promotion to die. Guys like Wade Keller and Mark Madden, and a whole bunch of fans who are either disenfranchised ROH fans that dislike the current product, or WWE fans relishing in the slow death of the darling of indie wrestling.

Basically, ROH's problems are two-fold - firstly, there's a huge disconnect between the TV product and the iPPV product, and secondly, the business model Sinclair employ, at least in terms of which markets they focus on, is out of whack. The TV product has a distinctly old-school feel, but provides quality wrestling in a compact, hour long form every week, but the iPPV product and the house shows for DVD release attempt to present an ROH-style show of old, but with a fraction of the talent. Meanwhile, because the TV show doesn't reach all of ROH's traditional markets, they've attempted to focus on the new areas it does reach, areas ROH hasn't often run in the past, and the result is that attendance is dwindling instead of showing growth.

But really, ROH's main problem at the moment is simply a lack of talent. The roster is at the weakest it's ever been, but there's a lot of talent out there waiting to be given a chance on a bigger stage. Personally, I think ROH needs a re-boot. They need to stop pandering to the remaining hardcore fans who want 30+ minute main events. They need to stop with this faux-MMA bullshit and get back to presenting professional wrestling. And most of all, they need some fresh talent on the roster and some fresh ideas backstage. As much as I'm a fan of Jim Cornette, he is not the answer. But, if not Cornette, then who?

Also, for all the "ROH is dying" doom mongering, no one actually knows how Sinclair feel about the situation, but many expect them to cut their losses and sell up. However, by all accounts, they make good money from TV advertising, while 500 fans are needed to break even at house shows/iPPVs. But, ROH is visibly trying to cut the costs of talent they use on house shows, which makes it harder to draw, especially given how thin the roster is. This all leads me to believe that Sinclair won't abandon ROH, but they won't spend much on improving it and, ultimately, they may attempt to bleed it dry for all it's worth. Sad.

That doesn't happen for the legends show - worst I've seen is Tracy Smothers getting pelted with coins, but Tracy is such a good heel, he always gets the crowd enraged.

Hyped for the PPV tonight (don't remember its name). Still kinda hyped though. Some decent people involved, and very few that make me hate that company.

I kinda like that Flip Cassonova guy that is getting a lot of hate. The Moonsault Sitdown Splash was good. If he tones down the other stuff he could be great to watch

The main problems for me is their lack of talent. The only talents they have that I'm really interested in are Kevin Steen and The Briscoe Brothers...Steen is on a big run for the company but who does he have to run with? The Briscoes are always great but they've kind of run out of competition there. I must say, none of their new talent has really caught on with me. They could use a reboot, but reboot to what? They've rebooted a few times lately and nothing has worked 100% since Gabe left the promotion.

No, Flip Casanova deserves more hate. He was just as sloppy as San Juan Kid. He needs to be sent to a good school and forced to tone it down or learn to do it properly every single time.

Sure he does. Probably Eugene.
Everyone loves Eugene. Secretly

Kane doesn't., my hero for only one advert.

Sold, as long as they don't go out of ring, it'll be great.

Is there any reason why Challenge don't just air the TNA ppv events live over here in Blighty? i'd be far more inclined to watch if they did.

I believe it's named Start-Point C.

Seeing as 90% of their programming is archival quiz shows, I don't believe they even have a capability to air live programming. I know BSkyB now own the channel, so they could organize something with TNA to get the signal and broadcast it, but I don't think their main studio/office even has the setup available to them.

Not even Elgin? Other than him, I would agree - Bennett can be a good heel, but just isn't there yet. Mondo isn't entirely awful and just had a great match with Davey on TV, but he's kinda bland. Coleman & Alexander seemed like a good young tag team, but then ROH stopped using them. Same goes for TJP.

All of the reboots since Gabe was fired have been aiming to present a more old-school product, one that would appeal to lapsed wrestling fans. But I don't think it has much chance of working. I think they need to drop the faux-MMA bullshit. I also think they need to stop trying to put on epic ROH main events when the roster lacks talent of the caliber of Joe, Punk, Aries, Danielson, etc. Finally, I think they need to temper the simple, old-school booking of Cornette with the sort of innovative, action packed, cutting edge wrestling they are currently lacking. After all, ROH didn't start up to present "wrestling the way it used to be", they started up to present "the next generation of wrestling". But, when ROH started, there were a bunch of regional promotions like ECWA & JPW and a bunch of ECW knock-offs like XPW & 3PW, whereas now there's Dragon Gate USA, CHIKARA, PWG, that all reach wide audiences and are all arguably presenting better products than what ROH can currently offer, so realistically, there just isn't the talent available.

TNA continuing on the up and up, and WWE pushing some of the right guys - with a huge range of talent waiting in the wings.

I'd almost feel optimistic if I had any of it left in me.

I figured it was probably a money thing, this now brings up a question that i'm surprised I never asked until today....why the hell is TNA on a quiz show channel?

I haven't the slightest idea, but it seems to work for them - TNA always have great house show attendances when they come over.

If Cena broke his leg and Vince suddenly decided to retire tomorrow, then some optimism might creep back into existence, for WWE anyway.

It used to be on Bravo. Bravo, Challenge et al got brought by BSkyB.

Sky closed Bravo and moved all of its TV shows to other channels.

Because it really is the only way to see it live in the UK.

Ah yes, that was the one, I forgot about Bravo even existing.
TNA had a brief stint on a low quality sports channel that no longer exists as well for that matter, can't remember what it was called though.
