Why are strippers at the U.N. bad when they're great at strip clubs???
Disney is developing a sequel to “The Jungle Book,” which opens Friday in the U.S.

The studio is talks with director Jon Favreau and screenwriter Justin Marks to return for “Jungle Book 2.”

The live-action-CG hybrid is expected to dominate the domestic market this weekend. Critics have embraced the movie with some of the best reviews of the year for a studio production.

WB can't catch a break

The funny thing is, just yesterday I realized a jungle book AND a Tarzan movie came out/coming soon, followed by another one of those my separate studio.

I 100% expected this after watching it last night. Was just talking about how I expected a sequel with my gf this morning.

India is the new China.

While it had a great opening weekend here in India for a Hollywood movie (~7-8 million dollars), it will not earn more than 30-40 million total here. We still really don't see many Hollywood movies as a whole.

Nah, there will be Jungle Book: First Class in 2020, then Jungle Book: Apocalypse in 2024

Not the joke the poster was going for

The film, titled Jungle Book: Origins, was previously set for an 21 October 2016 release.[12] On 11 December 2014, WB shifted the date to 6 October 2017, allowing more time for further work on the special effects.[13] On 6 April 2016, it was announced the film's release was moved to 19 October 2018 instead, under the name Jungle Book.[14]

Feels like a flop to me. Who's interested in another version of Junglebook? Especially a live action version

for me it's the equivalent of a live action iron giant. would be ill advised

It's reviewing super well, and audience interest is actually pretty high. Seems like a quality balance of realist action for adult audiences, with the same family-friendly charm of the original.

Some people are speculating it'll hit $1B globally.

Disney's next move should be to make a Jungle Book prequel, exclusively to stop Jungle Book: Origins from happening.

I just checked the reviews, and yes they are impressive. I would have thought this story was pumped absolutely dry at this point. without the charm of the voices and animation of the original, I'm not seeing the appeal at all.

but maybe it's not for me

I think your knowledge of Jungle Book adaptations is lacking

CGI is supposed to be phenomenal. Voice cast is great (ScarJo the goddess)

Also the Disney film is very different from the novel so I'm fine with them taking another crack at it.

From the trailers I was thinking Bill Murray didnt suit the voice of Baloo at all. Boy was I wrong! He was perfect. So were all the others, including those who didnt have a lot of lines, such as
ScarJo, Christopher Walken
.
