Brilliant use of taxpayers money, how much does each cam cost?

Hell if I know, but I know they had to pay "rent" on them to the company that ran them to the tune of 6k per camera, per month. Plus they had to have cops just sit around and look at the pictures, and then go to court for them. So it was a pretty big cost sink. They've had them up since like 2001 I think, Closed them down in Sept. Also, the red light tickets here in San Diego were $500 a pop and I guess most the people who got them were tourists who made right on reds and the mayor thought that was kinda a bad impression to give people visiting our city lol.

Judge? Court? Wtf. I just get a notice in the mail with a URL that takes me to a website with a video clip of me not coming to a complete stop. Just man up and pay it and learn to stop on red.

Took me 75x2 to learn but now I just make sure to stop.

It's really the right thing to do.

My parents seem to get these a lot.The 2nd and 3rd most dangerous intersections in the United States' are near my house so they've had the red-light cameras there for years already.

These are both walking distance:

2. Philadelphia, PA: Red Lion Road and Roosevelt Boulevard

3. Philadelphia, PA: Grant Avenue and Roosevelt Boulevard
