Just got a new external hard drive-- help on moving files?

I just got a new HD connected to my XP laptop and I want to move my music folder and some other files to the new HD. How exactly do I do this? I'm sure the answer to this question is obvious, but I'm not quite sure how to do this and I don't want to risk losing files in the process.

Thanks in advance...

right-click on "my computer", hit explore. Now all your drives will be in one window, just drag and drop your music directory to your removable drive.

edit: if you want to keep info in both locations, do a copy and paste.

Find a box and some foam popcorn. Put the external drive back into its packaging and then put it into the box. Tape it up and mail it off to me. It's clear you're not ready for this just yet. :lol Seriously, copy and paste or just drag and drop. I'm pretty sure XP by default copies files instead of moving them when you drag from one drive to another. It does for mine at least, and I just reinstalled last week. PEACE.

Have enough people made fun of the original poster yet or can I get in on this?
