Cop pulled me over because evidently my license plate was dirty. Then gave me a ticket because the address on my insurance didn't match the address on my license. I'm in sort of a temporary living situation and I moved away from my old address about 40 days ago. I didn't change my address with the secretary of the state because like I said, it's a temporary change. I don't know where I'm going to be living. As of right now I may as well be living inside a hotel room.

But yeah. Should I fight the ticket?

BTW the address on the license is updated because I just reupped my insurance and was right there on the website.

You should fight the ticket. 40 days? a dirty plate? What a colossal waste of everyone's time. I got pulled over for a broken headlight and hadn't changed my address for a year since moving and was just told to get it changed.

Cops can be anal about license plates. I once got pulled over because my license plate light blew. Im thinking dude you fucks got super bright lights and pull like within 2 feet, get off my dick. Thankfully i didnt get a ticket for that or the speeding. But still.

I got one for speeding about two weeks ago. Guy sat right in this perfect place where he knew it finally opened to two lanes after being one lane through a very backwoods kind of area, and I was stuck behind a big truck. The lane opened up, I took off, and like 300 yards later, there's the cop.

I think you have 30 days to update your address with the dmv if you move. So technically you probably should have updated it. Varies from state to state.

14 days to change your address in Florida and you can't have shit obstructing your plate.

I remember a few months ago getting a ticket on my own street for improper parking. Anyone remember that one? $54. I just paid it (after initially being angry and wanting to fight it) and parked the right way as most people here suggested. It was stupid as hell since I had been parking that way for years. Oh well. Life is unfair.

About a month after I bought my CRZ I got pulled over because the cop ran my tags and their system still showed them as belonging to my old car a Mitsubishi Eclipse.
There was no ticket after he realized the tags had been transferred.
