A semi-major plot point this season is property siezures and injunctions. Basically property can be taken from accused drug suspects and suspected gang members can't have any contact.

Are these based on any real laws in the states? I know in Michigan your car can be taken if caught soliciting. But the way the show presents it if you're even suspected of being involved in drugs you're property can be taken and it's up to you to prove innocence and you're not provided a lawyer.

The other is if you're suspected of being in a gang and you're blood brothers seen in public you can be arrested. That one is too ridiculous to believe it's real. It's racist to the core.

The Gang injuction is real, they had it here in Los Angeles a few years back when they were trying to control gangs. I dont think it's still in effect though, have to check up on that.

Found a recent one, It's a new one they are trying to get against Mara Salvatrucha (MS 13) which is now the biggest gang around. There is also a Federal Task Force which only deals with controlling MS 13.

If you get caught with drugs, the government can seize everything. Whether or not they actually do it is another matter. However, its legal.

Yeah both laws are real and happen. Then again all I am thinking is DAMN THIS SHIT IS GOING DOWN ON THE SHIELD HARDCORE!!!! This might be the best season yet.

Both are true. I saw an episode of Cops where they took a confiscated a large amount of money off this guy because he was a known drug dealer and because the drug dog "hit" on the money. The guy had no drugs on him. They told him to get an attorney and proof that he had worked for it and he would get it back. A requirement of some parole is that you can't associate with known criminal elements, so if your brother is in a gang and he's been made by the cops and you go to the family reunion then yeah the cops can come by and pick you up.
