Consider the theme, there has been a distinct lack of Ui:

If I wrote up a tutorial with pictures on how to connect to IRC
#kongaf specifically
with a client
pidgin
would it be useful to anybody in here? I have some free time at the moment.

It should help to get more people in the IRC, which everyone should join now that I'm gracing it with my presence.

Have I ever said she's really cute with her hair down? As in when she just gets out of bed, not when she pretends she's Yui.

Sure, as long as you draw something as well.

1) Installation

a) First you need to download the client itself here - http://pidgin.im/

Skip the steps below if you don’t have or don’t want a registered account and install pidgin.

b) Get the purple plugin pack here and download the bottom one (zip file) - https://bitbucket.org/rekkanoryo/purple-plugin-pack/downloads

c) You now have all the necessary files needed and can install pidgin as you would any other program.

d) The plugins come with a readme.txt, read it and copy all the files needed to where it specifies. If you’re running a 64-bit OS then you will need to look in the Program Files (x86) folder instead. Don’t worry if there’s not a bin folder, just create it. You can copy the folders from the zip file into the pidgin directory itself. You should be seeing all the files/folders below if you’re in the right directory.

Click Continue to everything it asks you. You should checkmark the box that says Do this for all conflicts to make it go faster.

2) Configuration

a) Go to Accounts and then Manage Accounts, click Add…
You should be seeing a window that allows you to change several options. We’re going to change the the Protocol to IRC. Once that is done, you can enter the name you want to use under Username. You will then change the Server to irc.rizon.net. At this point your window should look like the one below:

Mzn5V94.jpg

You can now click Add and it will with automatically connect you to the rizon server. You will see a lot of windows pop up, but you can just close them all. It will do this every time you open pidgin.

b) Now that you’re connected to rizon, you just need to join the channel! So you click Buddies and then Add Chat…

The Account should default to your IRC account. The only thing you need to add here is #kongaf under Channel. No password is needed and every other piece of it is up to you. You don’t need to change anything if you don’t want to. Your window should look like the picture below:

ZmmCjB7.jpg

Click Add and it should appear on your pidgin window like below:

BunhRVB.jpg

Now you just double click on it and you will be in k-on gaf’s IRC! Simple, no?

3) Registering an account - Optional

a) If you want to register your name, you are most certainly allowed to. What this means is that nobody else is allowed to use your name. If they do, you can boot them off of it. Remember those pesky windows I told you to close? Keep one of them open this time. If you already closed them, then you can just log out and log back in by going to Accounts, selecting the IRC account, click Disable, go to Accounts again, then re-enable it under Enable Account. I like to keep the Global window open for this. DO NOT DO THIS WITHIN THE CHAT. As a precaution, just in case you mess up. Make sure the username you put in during setup is the one you want.

b) In one of the windows, you want to enter this command:

/msg NickServ REGISTER password email

Replace password with the password you want to login with and email with the email you want associated to the account. It should look something like this:

jPoaItY.jpg

Once that is done you will receive an email with a confirmation code. Enter the confirmation code into the same window using the syntax below:

/msg nickserv confirm confirmationCode

It should look like something similar to the image below:

lHcG2lU.jpg

Hit enter and your name shall be yours! Do this within 24 hours of attempting to register. Don’t be lazy or you're crazy.

4) Automatic login via pidgin – Optional

a) If you just did the steps above, we’ll have you logging in automatically in a moment. If you already had an account then great! First thing we need to do is enable the plugins. Go to Tools and then click Plugins. Scroll down until you see IRC Helper and IRC More. Enable these two and then click close.

ZvBEndw.jpg

I’m not entirely certain if you need to restart pidgin, but do so anyway.

b) Now we need to configure the IRC account, so click Accounts and then Manage Accounts. If there is a check mark next to the IRC account, uncheck it for now so we can change it. Click Modify… and you should notice that the IRC window is bigger than last time. Click the Advanced tab up at the top and you should see a lot of options. The ones we care about are Auth name and Nick password. Enter the nickname you registered with as your username and your password will obviously be your password. Make sure you’ve confirmed your account first as mentioned above. You may checkmark the box that says Disconnect ghosts if you wish. Click Save and then check mark the box next to your IRC account once again to re-enable it. If there is not a NickServ window that pops up asking for authorization, you have successfully logged in. The reason I didn't include a picture for this one is obvious

Here's your drawing, Chet:

What in the... what.
I think you got a defective figure. You should send it back for a refund.

Okay. Yes. Now can you describe them for me? You don't have to describe them sensually or anything - you can just tell me and I will imagine the rest.

I know what you really want is a photo.

I don't watch porn. I'm broken.
I have watched a total of two hentais before, one out of curiosity (I think it was La Blue girl) and one because it was really cute (MAgical Twilight)

Watch Dragon Pink. It's rad, and it's more cute and fun, than it is hentai~

Also, don't worry. You're not missing out elsewhere. Hentai anime largely sucks for the most part, and the majority of it isn't good enough to even excite myself! Doujin is where it's at! Where else can you see your favorite characters like Azunyan do the lewd?
