What a terrible ending to Gu Family Book.
An obvious set up for a sequel (which is doubtful to even happen considering the pretty standard ratings this had relative to its cast), but one that wouldn't be necessary if the writers knew what they were doing. 24 episodes to set up a story that is essentially ended up with a "To be continued". No character growth, no loose ends tied up, nothing.
The whole point of the show was the book that can turn him into a human but nothing that's set up in the first 10 odd episodes ever comes to fruition. Can't believe writers of dramas struggle to tell a proper story in 24 hours worth of screenplay. I can understand dragging it out, but this just went nowhere.
If Heartless City disappoints me like this I'm going to be back to not watching kdramas again.
