Kanye West calls out Jay Z, Beyoncé, Media, ends show after only 30 minutes

I didn't ask how he feels. I asked what causes someone to start a song and then just stop in the middle and spout off a bunch of fucking nonsense. You think this guy was sane before Kim's robbery?

To posit he was insane in the first place is wrong. He's having a meltdown, but that doesn't imply insanity. If anything, artist recollections and his general treatment of his fans show he cares a lot. Dude's impulsive too, so that doesn't make a good combination. Add on to that his treatment for anxiety and depression with Lexapro, as evidenced by "I Feel Like That" and you can kind of see why he's prone to get hated on my the public.

And when you go to a Kanye concert, you expect shit like this. Most every stop on the Yeezus tour had a rant to go with it, so he knows his audience is prepared for impulsive things.

I'm also not a doctor, but I have unknowingly been around people whom I later discovered had been rambling non-sensical diatribes due to usage of illegal substances.

Here are some signs and symptoms of cocaine addiction:

http://www.acadianaaddiction.com/addiction/cocaine/symptoms-signs-effects#Signs-and-Symptoms

Does anyone with a background in healthcare think this could be the cause of his behavior and persona?

Not a big fan of this sort of armchair analysis of a human being, seems kinda disgusting IMO, like the sort of thing TMZ would put out being like "Is Kanye on Crack?" Or some shit. (No offense to you of course, more talking about this in general). We know he's not healthy and needs help, that's enough, no need to WebMd his symptoms lol

I mean he knows he needs help too, I think. Look at the lyrics to "I Feel Like", a song never officially put out but written sometime last year. It's always what I think of when I see these meltdowns from him.

While you're fast asleep. Do you experience nervousness or shakiness inside, weakness or dizziness? The idea that someone else can control your thoughts. Feeling others are to blame for most of your thoughts. Trouble remembering things, feeling easily annoyed and irritated. Feeling afraid in open spaces or in public. Thoughts of ending your life. Feelings that most people could not be trusted. Poor appetite, heart or chest pains?

I feel like this
I feel like that
I feel like that
I feel like that all the time
I feel like that
I feel like that
I feel like that
Feel like that all the time

Do you feel tempered outbursts, that you cannot control? Feeling lonely, even when you are with people, feeling blocked. Feeling blue, sad, disinterested in things, feeling fearful. Are your feelings easily hurt? Remember that people are unfriendly, or do you feel like people dislike you?

I feel like that
I feel like that
I feel like that all the time

He needs to take a break from fame for a while and get some help. If he doesn't then, well, I'm done with him and his Trump supporter bullshit.

I heard this happened and yeah yeah.. Kanye on another rant.

But I watched the video and WOW that is an epic meltdown. Worse than I thought. It reminds me of Kat Williams, but at least Kat was on stage to talk. Kanye just forgot he was performing music.

I think he is taking inspiration from Trump. Thinking he can go unhinged and rile up crowds up like Trump did. Psychosis is definitely involved too.

Is he marketing his shoes on Instagram right now
if macuser is right, it might just be where Kanye gets his inspiration from for his fashion line.
Lol, you can't be serious? Yeah sure, you might expect some dumb shit said at the end of the show. You don't expect it to be the main focus of the whole set. People didn't pay to hear him speak his mind and vent about his personal problems. They paid to hear his music preformed live. If you think that his "rants" are part of the experience then you're a bigger yeezy stan than I thought.
You're treating a Kanye show like its any other show. To put it simply, it isn't. His rants are fun because it's the real him saying this shit. You won't get a rant from Drake, or the Black Keys, or whomever; Kanye keeps it real with his fans no matter how dumb his shit may be. That's why us idiots are busy defending him. By ranting, he's expressing himself and making himself more human to his fans. To put it bluntly, if you're a casual, you only want the songs and that's it, if you're a vet, you want the more human side of him because apparently it means better shows.

That crowd turned on him too fast, at an emotional time directly after the huge Cudi reunion. Cudi (Kanye's best friend who he had been feuding with, someone who's largely responsible for a lot of the Kanye West "Sound") was in rehab for depression due to being mistreated by the music industry. After the reunion, Kanye spoke about the music industry as a whole, not "Personal Problems", and how radio is in a state of ruin. Usually during these rants, the crowd vibes with him, which then fuels the rest of the concert's energy. Unfortunately, the crowd went from hype to anti-kanye in a matter of five minutes, which fueled negative energy into the stream of consciousness, which made the rant more intense, which made the booing more intense, etc.

At the end of it all Kanye had two choices:

-Put on a mediocre show with negative energy after being told to shut up and called an idiot by 15000 people.

-Leave

With Cudi there performing as well I doubt Kanye went into the show with the intention of cutting it short, losing millions of dollars.
He was betting on the crowd feeling his rant, cheering, and boosting him to perform the greatest show of all time with his reunited friend, Kid Cudi.

Kanye is not the type of person you can just boo and tell to shut up and he just obeys anyway, and if he did it would have been a really wack show. Can you at least try to see it from his perspective?

Again I agree he was being a brat, and everyone deserves a refund. (And if they were smart enough to buy a shirt, those are going crazy on ebay.)

Also: Go watch any Kanye set on YouTube. 90% of them have a rant. Not expecting a rant kind of is their bad.

Basically. The problem is Kanye is such a huge artist many people there are just there to experience the floating stage, Gold Digger and for snapchat cred. Kanye forgets this when he's in an emotional state.
he also forgot the assumed huge swaths of people who were vibing with his rant, choosing instead to focus on the boos, which is pretty messed up.

Man, I really do hope he gets some help. Dude's been the soundtrack for so many parts of my own life. I really never cared about the controversies as long as the music was good and it always has been (count me as a fan of TLOP and Yeezus as well as the rest of his amazing discography) but he clearly needs some time off or this will end bad.

You can't really blame people for not "vibing" with his rant when the previous night the dude was saying he supported Trump. Like i'm a big fan but after that rant, if I was at this show, i'd be thinking fuck this guy and his shitty opinions, shut up and play your music. And i'm generally pretty tolerant of his ridiculous rambling. You can't pin any of this on the crowd, this is about Kanye.

You guys really put his show on this god tier level huh? His rants are fun? I'm a casual because I just want the songs and that's it? Look, you can try to spin it however you want. Him keeping it real is a shit justification for him not giving a fuck about his fan's time and money. To put it bluntly, his fans paid for a concert experience of the musical variety.

Basically if Kanye takes a literal shit on his fans the defenders will just say either the fans are lucky or they have to be understanding because he wouldn't be able to make good music if he wasn't like that.

It's disgusting and frankly irresponsible at this point. Washing his balls no matter what he does is probably part of why he's deeply mentally ill. He'll never seek help if people keep telling him he's perfect how he is.

Lol, he did both of these things.
Also, yeah, it's not news to anyone that he goes off on rants during his show so I don't know why you think people don't know this. The difference is that given that fact, he still performs his full set. You are trying to paint that as part of the experience that people paid for which is wrong. It is not their fault that they bought a ticket to Kanye's show and he bailed because people didn't agree with what he had to say. Get real. Dude has the biggest ego and that will be his downfall.

I agree, that's why I think everyone needs a refund for sure. But I don't think they disagreed with what he had to say. This was about the Trump thing.

But the whole walk out thing isn't something that Kanye invented, and he acted pretty rationally. There isn't a performer on Earth that would be cool with going on with their performance after the entire crowd is booing and heckling like that. I've been to so many concerts where the band just stops playing for similar reasons. Bands have refused encores that all other audiences got purely based on crowd energy. I watched Steven Tyler ended a great Aerosmith performance 3-4 songs in because people were sitting down instead of dancing.

"Why aren't you dancin?"
-one song later still no dancin-
Drops the mic, leaves.

So it's kind of better to just not clap than outright boo and start freaking out on the guy, especially since he's known for his notoriously short fuse, and wanted to represent his brother Cudi's struggles with the industry after the reunion.

Kanye's energy seemed wack before the rant too, so it's likely he just got done talking with Cudi about the whole thing, so he was really pissed for his friend who was literally about to kill himself because he has great music that is nowhere near the radio. Frank Ocean just dropped an amazing new album and it's not on the radio. I think Kanye's a huge dick for being a Trump supporter too, and I was super disappointed when he said that, but he wasn't talking about politics last night. I think the crowd turned on his rant solely because of that, this is a cultural phenomenon we're watching, but wack stuff does happen all the time and for more mundane reasons at that.

Why is he saying what he's saying about Obama, then?

At least from his music we know he's been on antidepressants for a while. Maybe even as far back as the Hawaii sessions, though we don't really know.

When you go to see a Kanye West show, you should expect a rant. If you don't know that after all of these years of touring I'm not really sure what to tell you.

He wasn't even talking about the Trump and political stuff, he was more talking about the state of the music industry and Cudi, who he had just reunited with. It was a very emotional night. They crowd turned on him in an instant, I assume because of the Trump rant from the other day, but normally he resumes the show, and the shows with the rants are usually MUCH BETTER SHOWS.

Again. It's Kanye's bad for being a dick about it, but he's in his right to not perform a show which he believes to have poor energy, which in turn would end up being a bad show. He is a ego-driven person and does not perform something that is not up to par.

Lol this is a fucking terrible post. He's in the right for cancelling a show HIS FANS spent real money on and dedicated their time to.. Because he got booed for saying stupid bullshit they didn't agree with? They were supposed to cheer him on when he said Obama couldn't "make America great again"? Any decent person would have booed his dumbass. Pathetically misguided rant and totally nonsensical. He WAS talking politics and still saying stupid shit.

So you think it's fine for him to just.. At any point.. Cancel his show because he personally believes there is "poor energy"?

Disgusting justification here, if you're not trolling you should be ashamed. Terrible.. Terrible post.

Without fans Kanye wouldn't be a superstar. He should show some goddamn respect for them and and reflect on why they're reacting the way they are instead of taking his ball and going home like a fucking child.

This reads like some sort of alt-medicine reiki practitioner nonsense. So much negative energy.

Also wonder if you realize that a big part of being a performer is not crumbling at the first sign of an audience who isn't on board with you.

I just cannot believe the amount of Kayne stans (to put it lightly) in this thread. Lol worthy.
Edit: It's these fucking stans that are destroying him too, tbh. Stop treating the man like a baby. Stop trying to victim blame and make excuses for his behavior. He needs to join reality at some. Y'all just trying to delay it.

So your thesis is that this is all fine?
The Trump supporting? No.
The walking out on his audience? No.
The fact he's facing some personal demons and needs support instead of anonymous dudes on a gaming forum he's addicted to cocaine, he's insane, he should be killed, et al? Yes.

I'm not defending his actions, I'm just explaining why he did them. Explanations =/= Defense.
I can see why he would like Tr*mp as they both say a lot of shit and have delusional fans that will defend everything they do.
A Gaga fan calling Kanye fans delusional? Pot calling the kettle black there.

And why would the crowd want to "vibe" with an artist after they shout a Trump slogan at them? If you want your audience to vibe with you, how about attempting to come within a light year of relating to them.

if macuser is right, it might just be where Kanye gets his inspiration from for his fashion line.

After reading that, you need help too. There's mental gymnastics, then there's pure mental discombobulation.

Kanye's ego is out of control. Dude put out two good albums and then starts going around comparing himself to Jesus. Go back to producing and stay out of the spotlight. Let the real rappers stick to rapping.

I like his rants too. But, his old ones are rehearsed and done at neary every stop with more topical/regional nouns dropped in. Saw him in Oakland and Anaheim on the Yeezus tour. Rants were there to iill time during the stage changes.
