As much as I hated waiting till the day of to hear WTT it was overall a better experience, hearing those tracks for the first time all in one sitting, was sublime.

Agreed. I love going into albums completely blind without listening to the previews or singles. Makes the experience so much better and memorable especially if it turns out to be an album I really really like. Only started doing it a few months ago, but never going back now.

Fuck that, I can't control myself when it comes to Kanye. I need to hear every single leak and sample. Can't resist.

Besides you guys heard like 1/3 or whatever of the album already if you listened to the singles.

Was Hudson Mohawke slated to offer any beats to this album? Cause one track sure sounds like something from him. (for those whove listened should know what I'm talking about)

Edit: I'm not talking about "mercy" either

Album snippets sound alright so far, on a side note, I heard a bunch of people bumping "Clique" today on campus, so G.O.O.D.

EDIT: I thought Cocaine 80s was a collective and not a singular person?

Listend through the snippets. For me this is incredibly disappointing. Can´t identify a single hit on there, beats are boring.

Watch the throne looks so good right now.

James Fauntleroy is the main vocalist, and he's the guy you hear on Clique, and 100 from Big Sean's new mixtape. Still refers to himself as Cocaine 80s as far as I know.

You need to throw your head in the garbage can if you think John Legend is better than Kellz.

Man that would be crazy talk.
R. Kelly evolved the sound of an entire genre.
John Legend doesn't even have a good album.

It was just funny to me that they had any guests with everybody they got on their roster.
I thought this would be all of GOODS time to shine, then they called in Kells, Jigga, Raekwon..... just doesn't make sense to me.

Does he have other work to his name?

I absolutely love Cocaine80s.
I'm not sure how extensive his work is, but I know he has some stuff. If you guys are familiar with Frank Oceans "Fertilizer" song on Channel Orange, that is based on a James Fauntleroy song from his album:

He's currently one of my favourite vocalists, so slick. Happy to see him on Big Sean's Tape and now Cruel Summer, he needs to get the exposure. He was also on Common's last CD, but Common is part of Cocaine 80's too.

Because the only GOOD people on the label are Kanye, Pusha and Cudi. 2 Chainz if he counts. No one wants to hear Common or Legend's tired asses.

Mos dude's stuff is lightweight garbage. Def never lived up to his potential over the course of an entire album.

lol..I see what you did there

I wish Kanye did this kind of thing back in the day when he was still tight with Talib, Lupe, Pharrell, Rhymefest, etc etc. I still listen to this http://tbohiphop.net/good-music-the-class-of-06-hosted-by-kanye-west/06/

Pardon my ignroance, but in the Sin City snippet, where does that scream come from? Maybe 6 seconds in. It sounds like the one featured all over yhe Lana del Ray album, so I am just curious. Maybe it's not the same scream, I don't know.

Yeah you're right it's the exact same vocal sample. Producers have been tossing that around since the 90's, it's basically the Hip-Hop version of the Wilhelm scream at this point.
I don't know where it originates from though, would like to find out.....

I'll give you Pusha, but I'd rather hear Common and John Legend than the other people on this shit. Big Sean, Cudi and 2 Chainz are terrible. And Chief Keef. Lmao.

This sounds like garbage... listening to Creepers lol, people actually like Cudi? Dude is a fucking joke, what is this
Yeah...I never understood the appeal with Cudi.

Yeah...I never understood the appeal with Cudi.

Big Sean and 2 Chainz is good ol' fun times. But I don't "get" Cudi, either. Guess not my style.

I think Big Sean can be fun but sometimes when half his verse just consists of his catchphrases then it gets horrible.

"whoaaa, oh god, boi, bitch I doo iiiit, go dumb, oh god"

2 Chainz >

Snippets seem to no longer be on iTunes, which makes me glad because I will no longer listen to them. Yay. Anyway. Shit needs to drip soon.

I still don't understand why Cudi has an entire track to himself, was hoping he'd just sing a few hooks, and have maybe one or two verses, but an entire track

I like it because then I can just delete the track without having to worry about cutting out anyone with talent on the song

I never got the love Cudi got for Man on the Moon. Maybe it's because I'm not sad all the time.

Only time I can stand Cudi is when he's doing hooks.
