...WHATEver wonder what it would be like to roll around and collect everything you touched in one massive heap? Well that's exactly the premise of Namco's strange action game Katamari Damacy. In it, players assume the role of the Prince of the Cosmos as he undertakes a quest to right the wrongs of his father who accidentally knocked the stars out of the sky. The only way to fix it is to roll around the world and collect as many items as possible in one gigantic clump. Both a single player story mode and two-player battle feature are included for the romp, and gamers will be able to accumulate hundreds of different items of various shapes and sizes.

Is there an actual point to this game besides rolling a ball around and making it bigger?
What other point would there be?
Sorry,I just don't see how that could be worth money
Do they have that much faith in the american hardcore gamer?

In Namco's booth facing a corner. Bad, bad AniHawk!AniHawk said:Where was it? I didn't even see it at E3.

The music soundtrack is exactly the same within the game. Yes, including the lyrics. Sheesh. In the intro they used a slightly different edit of the main theme tune, so the song is simply "Laaaa la la la la la laa laa la laa laa la la laaa" etc instead of "Laaaa la la la la la laa laa la katamari damasii".Dragona Akehi said:Has anyone had absolute confirmation that the lyrics in Katamari have been left intact? I know they've confirmed that the "music" or "soundtrack" is "intact", but I've had a bad feeling that Namco might have left the music but removed the vocals...
Why do you need anything beyond "roll a ball around and make it a certain size?"Ramirez said:Sorry,I just don't see how that could be worth money

Last I checked, the whole point of Halo was to run around and shoot things. I don't see how that could be worth money.
Pretty much, yeah.Soul4ger said:See my above post.

I just don't get why people question the validity of Katamari Damacy as a game concept when they don't say "What? There's nothing to do in Street Fighter except to beat each other up over and over again? That's so dumb" or "So the whole point of Super Mario Bros. is for me to run to the right of the screen and jump on things? How can they charge money for that?"
