Kaz Yamauchi claims there is not PC port of Gran Turismo 7 in development

Seems the reports a couple weeks ago that said they were considering it were a mistranslation. It's a shame, i actually do think GT7 would do well on pc but if they ain't feeling it…. *shrug*

Nothing will beat Miyamoto's denial of a new DS model the literal day before they revealed it.

Or Cyberpunk marketing manager saying the game won't get delayed the day before it got delayed.

But yeah, i doubt Kaz would go on record saying its not in development if it actually were. He'd probably just say nothing.

Sony should focus more on their core audience; they had way more pc announcements this year and some games flopped (uncharted, sackboy)

They sure as shit they won't get 5 millions copies sold on pc…

I had a feeling it wasn't true.
Now Nintendo just needs to tell people there won't be a Switch Pro so they can stop asking.

Wouldn't be surprised if they started to pivot from the rapid fire PC launches after this quarter. The Playstation on PC fire has warmed and they know theres not much left to squeeze out of that market.

God of War and Spider-Man were probably the peak

Thank fuck. This is honestly the last thing we need PD to focus on (PSVR2 please). Also, it would be hard to implement Sport Mode unless they cut out the World Series and other events.

So basically dude simi-leaks it then marketing locks him down. That means it's coming next year.

Yeah ok.

Why? Given GT7 has live-service nature it actually makes more sense to port it.
Yamauchi made the game saves to be only stored on Polyphony servers to avoid ppl cheating since GT Sport, imagine the game launching on PC that is a open platform known to be plagued by cheaters in any online game.

Unless they are sure the system they are using now is cheater proof on PC too, i would not count in seeing GT7 coming to PC anytime soon.

They had a hard time with GT5 and GT6 on PS3 where ppl could export and import the saves to PC and mod them to be able to cheat in the game, it not only ruined the online game where ppl was only safe in private lobbies but also impacted the release of game updates as Polyphony was tying to find a way to prevent the cheaters but was never sucessfull.

Polyphony has some high profile sponsors for the e-sports scene. I dont think they will gamble on a PC version just for some more extra bucks risking ruining years of work building they thing for e-sports unless they are sure they system used now is actually cheater proof on PC as well. If that is the case then i can see a possible PC version in the future too.

Meanwhile, the FIA dumped GT7 for the PC version of Asseto Corsa.

I believe that polyphony has nothing to announce and probably isnt working on a PC version, because somebody else is probably doing the port. GeForce leak is undefeated.

I remember the times when playing screamer, midnite club and nfs with a keyboard. And after a few days my fingers are literally wrecked, aching from pain. Since then driving games have become S H I T. Here is your real life ride and beat the fucking lap time 155 times. Bring story back into driving games. Fucking fifa driving games should be banned ;).

This is a bad take.

They had two games that didn't sell particularly well at full price launch. One was a throwaway title in the first place and the other was a sequel of franchise not available on PC...

Sony is going to start publishing all their games on PC and as such they're going to come out fairly close to each other in time.

What he denies is to have told the western media that he is researching and developing the port, and mentions that he isn't doing anything related to a GT7 PC port.

Which is perfectly compatible with GT7 being ported to PC by other studio, while he and Polyphony works in something else as could be GT7 post launch content, GT7 PSVR2 port and/or GT8.

But well, we know that at least until April 2026 PS Studios plans to release every year more titles on PS than in PC, meaning that several PS Studios titles will keep PS exclusives forever. If you ask me, GT7 would be one that I'd release on PC, but who knows. Maybe it's one that they'll keep it PS exclusive, at least for a couple of years to sell consoles.

Assetto is waaaaaaaaaay more sim accurate than GT, so it makes sense for the FIA to do that.

Completely agree on the GeForce leak...GT7 is coming to PC, just a matter of when...

I mean we can't trust developers about this shit lol. History has shown they try to hide releases as false even when leaked.

That said it would be a huge loss if it wasn't on PC. Out of all their IPs this is the one that would flourish the most on PC especially with cross play . I'm losing so many hours to GT7 since I got it. I would gladly double dip on PC for improved visuals.

Except fia going with assetto has nothing to do with being sim accurate.

The FIA revealed this past weekend that its esports collaboration with Gran Turismo isn't over; it's merely on a hiatus, to allow developer Polyphony Digital more time to add necessary features to GT7 and sort out the game's multiplayer instability.

Once they sort out the issues they can run the events on gt again.

You can have really fun watchable events without being a super accurate simulator, as gran truismo has shown for the last few years.

Got feeling nothing gets ported unless Kaz Yamauchi does it and wants it.
I feel like kaz is one of the few sony studio heads who has that kind of power.

Good luck finding someone as passionate as him to keep your franchise going for this long.

And polyphony seem very tight knit, piss him off and the franchise is in trouble.

Still hope it ends up on PC with proper aspect ratio/fov/seat position settings. I didn't play this game nearly as much as I would have liked to because I want to play it in my rig. There's so much potential for it on PC.
