Knightley plays a depressed young woman who falls in love with a Gulf War vet played by Adrien Brody. The actress says she told director John Maybury, "You're not going to see my [butt]. The top half is fine, but the bottom half isn't." One thing you can be sure of: Her feet will be stylishly shod.

"Recently I saw shoes that were a size too small," she tells Webster Hall's Baird Jones. "But I just loved them so much, I had to buy them. I've ended up putting the shoes on my mantel as artwork, and they have done just fine there."

So really, we're looking at Pirates, Bend, and Love against Leon, Heat, and Mars Attacks! However, due to the small (to the point of pointless) role in Mars Attacks, that one has to be dropped.

Both are great actresses and have done some great films. Portman has done several more, so naturally a few aren't exceptional. Though maybe there's something to the point that Knightley is cast in better movies.

Now I haven't seen Love Actually (and never will) but seriously, people thought Bend It Like Beckham was good? That was such an atrociously lame movie that relied on horrible sped-up footage of actors pretending to play soccer, and endlessly hackneyed lesbian and Indian jokes.

Pirates of the Carribean sucked ass except for Johnny Depp. Whenever he wasn't on screen I was bored out of my mind. Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley played some of the most bland and boring characters I've ever seen grace a pirate movie. I can't believe they're making two more... and now fans of the movie are bitching about how the Disney rides don't have anything to do with the movie... as if it's false advertising... ugh, stupid masses.
