Ken Lobb said:I'm excited about paying something like Resident Evil 4, I'm super happy the game has taken a turn, I've always loved the franchise and it sounds like they've made the best one ever. Part of the reason I haven't opened it yet is that it's not online. I go home and there's my massively large stack of games and I tend to pick the ones that I know my friends are paying that night. Sooner or later I'll get to RE4 because it's brilliant, but it's not drawing me the way it should.
I thought I've seen some stupid shit get spread around - especially this generation - but this manages to take home the booby prize.
Not playing Burnout 2 because it isn't online, and instead opting for Burnout 3 because it is online is a valid statement. Playing Halo 2 instead of Mario Brothers isn't showing a preference for online, it's showing a preference for a completely different genre.
As much as online gaming's gotten off the ground in this particular cycle, it's not going to mean the evaporation of single player experiences. So unless Ken's also going to come out and say that he also just hasn't gotten around to playing Fable or Sudeki, he's taking an obvious - and petty - shot across Nintendo's bow. Which would be fine, because sniping between the three console makers seems to be the norm, but, you know, at least make sure it's in fucking CONTEXT.
