Kikizo Original Next Gen Sonic Info

I doubted the next gen sonic info a little bit seeing that TGS is so close and it would seem smart to just wait for the show to deliver a bigger shock to the audience... but they were right!

whoever their sega snitch is... it looks like he (or she) is giving them real factual info.

could this mean that their other story was real?

could this possibly mean the return of...

Kikizo Next Gen Shenmue Info

*sniff*

i've waited so long... i hope their snitch isnt bullshitting them about shenmue.

Their info only says the game is currently a big possibility. Even if they're right it still doesn't mean the game is set for a release.

Sure they were right about Sonic because Sega sends out invitations for the todays presentation. Even IGN announced the NextGen Sonic.

But I don't believe this Shenmue stuff.

What was kikizos original next gen sonic prediction?

http://games.kikizo.com/news/200509/019.asp

"Ever since Sega teased with next-gen demo footage back at E3 in May, we've been waiting to see more of Sonic looking so darn good. After all, the other demos that formed part of Sega's closed-booth presentation have all now been announced and shown off at last week's AM show in Japan.

Kikizo can reveal that Next-Gen Sonic is scheduled to be announced at the end of this week, on September 9, before making an appearance at the Tokyo Game Show, which starts September 16.

Next-Gen Sonic is set to reflect the E3 demo, which has since been leaked onto the web in a low-quality video. It showed Sonic speeding through the jungle before facing up to an army of mechanical enemies, which gunned the hero down in a spray of bullets. Poor Sonic! But he became Super Sonic and kicked their ass. Go Sonic!

We'll likely see more of what the game will offer on the 9th, when we expect the first screenshots and details to hit the web. But, when Sonic is shown off at TGS we expect a full, debut trailer at the very least.

However, don't expect to be playing it anytime soon. Next-Gen Sonic won't see release for well over a year. We've not been able to confirm the formats it will appear on, but we're speculating that the initial announcement will focus on Xbox 360, while eventual release will see multiple next-gen platforms. Back at E3, Sega representatives were coy when pushed for details of which hardware the demos represented - particularly in the case of Sonic."

they also said...

"So, Yu Suzuki finally returns with a promising new arcade title, legendary AM2 franchises are back, Shenmue is still alive, Nagoshi is exploring an untapped side of his creativity, and now Sonic is set to return in a big way. It seems about the right time to point out "we told you so" when we said that the game was far from over for Sega fans."

so im crossing my fingers

Don't overcompensate. There is always a chance.

Realistic - if anything its a PS3 title. They want to sell titles now. And REV won't be the way to go.

Or are we going to make the 3rd parties sell on Nintendo consoles prediction?

Sorry - challenge or nothing. Cause there is zero chance of it on Rev.
Yea why do you think there is zero chance? If anything, I would think if the controller is as innovative as rumored, then the FREE engine of Shenmue would be perfect for opening up new gameplay possibilities.

Yeah, I see what you mean, after the horrible sales of the Sonic series.

Yes because one title disproves all else. Please don't bother making the case that 3rd party sales are good on Nintendo consoles. Please.

<waits for Link version of Soul Cal to be posted>

Not like shenmue didn't have little things that would benefit with some type of new control scheme or anything.

But yeah, zero chance Nintendo is doomed, etc etc etc

Who knows what it will go to? It's SEGA. Maybe it'll go multiplatform, and Rev will get a nice version too. Who knows? But there's certainly a chance, no reason to say otherwise.

Although this is silly in another way. A hypothetical innovation, even if it was truly innovative, would not automatically be a fit for FREE or Shenmue. How you determined it'd be 'perfect' for opening up such gameplay possibilities is interesting and pure fantasy. Similarly, sales (and by extension, audience) are generally more important than interface for deciding a platform. But it IS SEGA, soo...

And seriously, as an aside, when you were playing ShenMue did you say "Man, I really would like to play this game with a hypothetical innovative interface! I could see it improving it, in some vague way!" I don't even know where it was determined that it NEEDS updated controls with some 'innovative' scheme if you happened to like ShenMue.

In a thread on the first page of this forum? In fact, in two threads on the front page...
A link in this thread would've been nice for the ones that missed it but thanks.

I was hoping for more of a full blown announcement with actual pics of actual gameplay and not just some confirmation from Gamespot with some higher renderes of old E3 non-gameplay footage. Oh well, the day's not over yet (in Japan). It is the 9th in Japan right now right?

understandable and added for future references.

when the screens hit... this was the first thing that came to my mind.

if their sega source is right about sonic... could they be right about shenmue as well?

i hope so... because like every shenmue fan... i want closure.

i really do think that microsoft will pick it up though... if microsoft doesnt pick it up... then it will go multiplatform.

nintendo is unlikely to pick it up seeing that the franchise didnt do well with the first two games

and I think sony would probably want a next gen sequel to Ryu ga Goto Ku than shenmue... since the new game is a project that fits the sony image and has potential to sell.

so with microsoft looking for more japanese titles... and has already published shenmue 2 along with other sega titles... I think microsoft will pick it up and advertise it like crazy in japan.

If I could, I'd throw cold water on your face and slap you silly with my glove right now.

Stop it. Just stop it.

No Shenmue 3.

The game might exist in some raw conceptual form, with characters and a script and everything, but you'll never get to play it.

So move on with your life.
