Killer Instict: Killer Cuts Appreciation Thread

I was browsing through my old CD collection the other day, recollecting on my tasteless adolescence. You know, finding a bunch of CDs and me going "WTF was I thinking!?" For example, I must have been insane to buy a Limp Bizkit CD, and I'm a little concerned at my 2 LIVE cds. Sure, some of their songs are pretty good, but most of their album songs are spent slobbering on God's cock. Not that I have a problem with a band singing about god, but on LIVE's CDs it is a bit over-the-top. :lol

Anyhoo, in my nostalgiac adventure I stumbled upon a holy item: The Killer Instinct Killer Cuts soundtrack! I think it came with Killer Instinct on the SNES if you pre-ordered it or something. So now I've been jamming to the Killer Instinct soundtrack for the past hour!

How can you not love the mad beat and lyrics to the opening track, "K.I. Feeling"

She's a killaaahh, killaahhhh. Yatadadadadadada!

Then there's the wonderful spanish counting lesson in "Do it Now!"

Oh man, this CD is awesome. Anyone else have this beast? Share the rhythm, brothas! :lol

Ack.

Back when the arcade KI hit, I thought the music was awesome.

Years and years later, when SNES games were being bargain-binned out of TRU, I snagged a copy of KI for 5 bucks just for the CD, and OMG was it atrocious. I dont think I had ever heard such god aweful remixes.

If it had had the original arcade track it would have owned though.

I still have it, it came inside the actual Snes box for KI. Haven't heard it in years but I remember Chief Thunder's "Oooooooh Yeeeeeeah" song, Jago's song and TJ Combo's "Yo check dis out!!".

Some tunes like Cinder's, and Sabrewulf's were actually pretty good.

:lol I own it too. I think it was packed-in with nearly every copy of KI, at least the first shipment. I used to think it was sooo good back then, but I know better now. It's shit. :P

LOL, way back in the day my friends and I celebrated a birthday party at the local arcade, and the music we had playing was almost all Killer Instinct and Mortal Kombat jams. ESPECIALLY the theme music from the Mortal Kombat movie.

Good times. :lol

A friend of mine, when she first got Killer Instinct when it came out on SNES and played the CD, her mom heard the K.I. Feeling song with Orchid "moaning". She took the CD out of the CD player and broke it using a kitchen cupboard door. Traumatic childhood, but it is a funny story.

"Johnny Cage is not afraid to die!"

Yea, the title track was played over and over and over. It was practically all over the first movie and even the second one.

"Uh AH! Uh-UH, UH UH, UH AH, UH-UH , UH UH, Kano, Johnny Cage.."

KI Killer Cuts was the better one.

Oh man, the last minute of track 15, "The Extreme," might very well be the cheesiest bit of music I have ever heard. It would have fit in the Dungeons and Dragons movie. :lol

Haha, I had completely forgotten about this. It didn't even click in until I saw that you were talking about a CD. I used to listen to KI Feeling all the time when I was a kid. I doubt I would enjoy it as much now though, heh.

I have this. I liked it back in the day, but now it tends to make me wince. There are some great songs on it. I particularly like Jago's and Sabrewulf's themes. Oh, and Spinal too.

Sabrewulf, Spinal, and Raptor's theme's kick ass(and I like how Sabrewulf's blends into Spinal's seamlessly)...Orchid, Jago, and Chief Thunder's also kicked ass. The beginning and end to Cinder's is nice, but gets very repetitive in the middle IMO.

And hey, don't forget the Donkey Kong Country OST :)

Man, that's nostalgic. Oddly enough, about the time that KI for SNES came out, I was working at Blockbuster. They got in 10 copies or so, and as was the custom, the only things they cared about were the boxes (for the shelves) and the carts (for the customers). The manager let me take home all the CDs. I think I hooked everyone I knew up with one. Many laughs were had. :lol I seem to remember liking Orchid's theme best.

I loved Killer Cuts. For some reason, I ended up getting a lot of freebies from the Big N back in the day (I wasn't even writing about games then, and don't recall signing up for anything... though at the time I had been subscribing to Nintendo Power ever since Issue 1 of Fun Club News), and one of the freebies that showed up one day was Killer Cuts.

~~ Such a feelin', such a feelin'... a killer feelin'...

Cheesy, but awesomely so.... and techno was the rage at the time too.

I have a few of the tracks on the iPod at the moment actually

Also, I bought a sealed copy of KI w/ the killer cuts CD included off eBay for $3 + S&H (about $5~6 total) to add a few more shits and giggles to my collection. :lol
