Killer Instinct coming to Xbox One

If you break the laws established in the game, then you're temporarily breaking the game itself. I don't see how that would be beneficial to anyone.

Rather than a speed boost, what if her Instinxt Mode allowed her to a specific moveset that is otherwise unavailable to her? Like transforming into the tiger (?) for instance?
Not really for a very short period of time this will happen plus the trade off would be her attacks does less damage

Finished them both and... wow, this guy is now one of my heroes. His passion is infectious. I am now more interested in Wolfenstien than I ever was.

That part where he used the audience was amazing. I am now going to be trying to find every bit of music I can in the game to try and figure out where all those sound bits ended up.

So far I think that the whistling and wind bits will end up in the background and in the tornado on Thunders stage. As for the others, I don't really know.

Also, I can't stop trying to do the throat thing!

Killer Instinct needs a pirate with sword and retractable hook hand (Sort of like Scorpion he can grab you). His level is a pirate ship or island with buried treasure surrounded by sharks. Pay me Double Helix.

Not sure about the hook thing but I can see Double Helix putting a pirate slant on Spinal.

He's already sort of...piratey?

I have a feeling most if not all of it was for Thunders stage. The only thing I'm questionable on is the "zombie" like whistle thing he had them do.

Also it would be pretty bad ass if the chanting stuff was for Thunders ultra hits on his stage.

As far as real martial arts go, i wouldn't mind seeing a Wing Chun practitioner as part of the cast. If any style lends itself to a game that's about big combos it's that one.
Also would love to see a character maybe based on Sun Wukong( monkey king) complete with magical growing staff, i imagine with so much reach would make him almost like a Zoner.

I would LOVE this to happen actually. I was probably one of the few people to miss Son Son in MvC3.

And my reaction to Sabrewulf's music so far is pretty much in line with:

This is actually pretty disappointing to me. Tooth & Claw was my favorite track from KI Cuts, and this is NOTHING like it. It's just slow and boring...

unfortunately. The old theme was my absolute favorite character theme and while this new piece of music will probably be nice as well (mostly because it reminds me of the classical piece Danse Macabre, as can be heard here while accompanying stills from a haunted house / graveyard ride in the Dutch amusement park De Efteling - this would have actually been a good source of inspiration in general by the way!), it does sound a bit lacking in the oomph and graveyard / violin dance department. Oh well, maybe we'll grow to love it!

There's confirmation that we can use music from the old games right? I want Tooth and Claw, and Jago's first theme on every stage.

Or the Gameboy music. The Gameboy music is 100% amazing.

So, get the full base game for $20 bucks... Or get it with Accessories, costumes, and the original KI for 20 dollars more.

Not bad at all. Insanely cheap initial price for entry, for a game that looks like this.

6 characters at launch, 2 soon after. That seems pretty within expectations, given the info feed we've been getting.

Orchid, Spinal, Fulgore, Cinder?

$40 for 8 characters and you get the original game?
Put me down for that one. I'm excited for the new game but I still really enjoy playing the SNES version. I was really hoping for at least 10 characters though.

I'm somewhat surprised there isn't a bundle with the fight stick.

Fighting games are one of the easiest games to add new content to over time. It's not as if they releasing a gears of war campaign one chapter at a time.

Fighting games are easier to support over a longer period of time.

Wow, that's pretty fucking terrible. $5 per character?

That's the standard price per DLC character for fighting games and it's pretty fair. Still, $20 for a fighting game with only 8 fighters seems a bit much, especially considering we'll only play with 6 at launch, should be $15. If the game has a deep story mode and is packed with content similar to MK9 I wouldn't mind paying even $30, but I doubt they'll include that.

Six characters in a fighting game at LAUNCH???

Pathetic.

Have they explained how online match ups occur? For example what happens if one player hasn't bought the other players chosen character?

What concerns me is that the "Season Pass" only includes two future DLC characters...

Once the initial 8 are released, do we have to start shelling out the full $4.99 per character?

Will there be a new, 50%-off bundle offered upon release of the 9th character? ($10 Season pass for the next 4 characters as an example)

Hmmmmm

The free download probably includes everyone (just locked until you pay). Compatabity packs for post launch characters.

So inexpensive entry level price and an early promise of support for more, and all people can think about right now are "Rushed!" "OMG, $5 per character if you buy them separately!", etc, etc?

Not to mention the "Ultra Edition" will be getting you the first real port of the Arcade KI along with it.

I think it'll be very good to have something like KI easily obtainable for such a low price on Day 1 of a console release. The idea of getting to "Location Test" future fighters from Day 1 sounds pretty exciting to me, as a gamer. Could already be working out the kinks while new fighters are coming to the game still. Wouldn't you like to be playing that GGXrd Location test the world over, rather than watching a limited amount of sneaky cell-phone movies taken in a single arcade in Japan?

I actually think this is a nice starting point for all fighters this Gen. If this works out well, we could be seeing the next iteration of SF way before Capcom's classically-planned dreams suspect. Or that KoF in late 2014 Arcade release could take a new path to release, that allows them to make money while still making more and more characters for the game.

MOBA's get away with it, PC games get away with making you pay for "Alpha" and "Beta" states when a game is missing vital modes and gameplay. Why does it suddenly cause complaints when it's applied to a game genre that actually makes SENSE to offer modular parts for, on console?

For comparison sake:

Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate: Core Fighters

Launches Free 2 Play with four characters. Extra characters are £3.19 per character. 30 characters total. Team Ninja aren't offering character sets.

A retail version is available with all characters.

You have to remember that it's an update of an already released game. I can go and buy DOA5 for £7. The pricing of the f2p version reflects that.

In the £17 package, that's £2.13 per character.

Remember Dead or Alive 5 or DOA 5 Plus (Vita) are completely incompatible with the forthcoming Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate.

This game better have an extensive tutorial/training mode like Killer Instinct 64 had. So many good memories from that game a lot more than with the original.

The training mode is supposed to be fantastic.

How many DOA characters are there total, now compare that to KI.

Also how many characters did Blaze Blu launch with and what was the MSRP, now compare that to the new KI.

I was all-in at any price (within reason), so $39.99 for everything you can get at launch? Take my money. Pretty sweet that they're including the original KI arcade. It would probably be too much to expect it to be upgraded though (less compressed assets).

Now the question is who are the other two characters that'll be in the game for day one? So far we have Jago, Sabrewulf, Glacius and Chief Thunder.

Thats good to hear. Unfortunately XBOX gold needed to play online is a bummer but I hope I can get to try this game at local fighting community meet ups in the future before I decide to go with an Xbox 1 or not.

The question is will the original KI given in the ultra bundle have online MP?

BB launched with 12 characters, but they were 2D and had so much detail and depth put into them. Plus the game had a lot of content, especially for its time.

Another more fair example would be Skullgirls, which was a new game that launched with 8 characters for $15.
