Ahh fuck - I hate the orchid redesign. Orchid is not Lara Croft, she is supposed to always be coming straight from the club. She does a lot of undercover work 
. and she doesn't have a pet glowing tiger she turns into one.

what? Nothing you said makes sense. looks nothing like lara and that is very similar to her attire. There was no fidelity back then so you might be getting confused.

Surprisingly her design isn't horrendous. The only thing I'm not liking are the goggles.

A tank top with booty shorts, goggles, work gloves and thigh high combat boots were not what Orchid wore in KI 1 or 2 - but it is something I could see Lara Croft wearing. so either you are the one that is confused or you are elbows deep in this game and don't enjoy the opinions of others. At any rate - different strokes for different folks, I am glad you like how this game looks.
So just get her classic costume and be happy? She will have her KI1 look available as an option.

Most of that is what the original orchid has. Go look at her again to refresh. It was shorts,boots up to her knees[for the most part] and sleeveless shirt up to her shoulder. It's very similar.

Also, just get the classic KI outfit. I much prefer this look. Makes her look like an actual secret agent/tech girl than being doused in a pool of rad 90s stereotypes. I mean, she's wearing Pants! in this look.

Orchid looks great! I really like the design, even the goggles. I like the attitude she seems to have in the brief look. Best character redesign so far imo and I liked most of them.
Sadira looks much better with the mask off. Can't wait to see more from her. The stage looks really great.
Really hoping for Fulgore and Spinal with the final two. Especially Fulgore.

I really wish they would fire their character designer. Every single one of them looks uninspired. Which I guess goes with the Killer Instinct Formula of basic characters but basic doesn't have to mean terrible.

Ill end up doing that, but I thought that Thunder, Glacius and and Sabrewulf's redesigns were great and was hoping to see similar awesomeness in Orchid.
I personally think their designs get better with every single one, Jago is really the stepchild now, poor soul

I think they showed a consistent reverence for the characters when redesigning them. This new Orchid, the color palette matches up with the old one... gloves, sleeveless, shorts, boots, and skin in some extra places. Of course they were going to update her outfit, but they replaced the tights with a more plated armor look. Yeah, notice how original Orchid had a headband? They simply changed the headpiece accessory to something that makes marginal sense. They added goggles because she's suppose to be a covert operative, not a go-go dancer.

Shorts seem about the same to me. Both are just as short as each other. One might be separated but it's the same look at the end of the day,

Orchid didn't wear an undershirt, a belly shirt and booty shorts - it was some 90s latex dress/shorts unitard thing with high heel boots. Perfect for cartwheel kicks but not so much for tomb raiding.

The cgi is not exact. In the cgi the boots are beyond the knee where the ingame model has it under the knees. The idea is still the same,they are where they were in the old model.
Are you really arguing that a latex leotard with stiletto boots makes more practical sense than a shirt/shorts combo?

If practicality was DD's goal with this fighting game, they selected the wrong series. I am surprised that your concern is practicality when you are such a fan of the DMC series Guardian.

Man you people are going crazy..Its 2013 yall thought the characters was gonna look the exact same? This is not SF or MK where there has been plenty of sequels through the years this is just the 3rd game and its coming what more than a decade later than the 2nd.

lol, for some reason I thought you were arguing that Classic Orchid was wearing something more practical for a fight.
Anyway, I guess I'm just not really sure what you were expecting from her redesign. They have said right off the bat that they will keep classic costumes in for purists or people that dislike her redesign... and I think they were pretty faithful, all things considered.
