So you're saying $60 for 24 characters/stages isn't a good deal?
And its 8, not 6.
Do you like season passes? Because that's what it sounds like to me.
Super Street Fighter Ultra will have 44 characters for $39.00.

Hope there will be a "fuller" game once I get my Xbox One in a year or so. This is pretty much the only game I'm interested in so far on the platform.
Not trying to troll or anything but couldn't they just make a complete game? What's with releasing such a no-frills package? I couldn't imagine playing a fighter like this in this day and age. What the hell?
They only had just over a year to develop this game, so it's pretty understandable that it isn't heavy on content.
Bingo. I like options but let's be real. Most of the time at least a third of the cast isn't viable. Hopefully less characters plus DH emphasizing the teaching of fundamentals equates to a better experience for new players. And less than 14 of those characters will be used. Quality > Quantity every time.
I don't typically curse much here, but sometimes it's warranted. Here's a music teaser for Killer Instinct with Orchid, Thunder, Sadira, Glacius, Spinal's themes. https://soundcloud.com/mickgordon/killer-instinct-2013-music-1
Sorry, but those scores do not reflect how bare-bones the content is.
Especially given some of the complaints regarding Resogun's content, which is from what I've read a far more complete and substantial experience, I can't help but feel that its being treated conspicuously gently.
And also... small team.
Less cooks in the kitchen can lead to a better balanced game and a more unified direction.
First of all, Street Fighter 4 vanilla was $60 for1925 (my bad, was looking at the arcade release) characters. Second, fragmentation is only a problem in other fighters because they create entirely new SKUs when they get new characters. All future KI characters will be playable from this one SKU. You'll still be able to fight characters you don't own so there's no fragmentation.
ThanksPlayed it over the weekend at the time warner center here in NYC and the d-pad has been greatly improved. Played ten matches and had no issues with it.
And, again, with the original SF4, you got more characters all at once and a physical copy for the same price.

No, because people that want to update their prior purchases can do so digitally.
And, again, with the original SF4, you got more characters all at once and a physical copy for the same price. The only reason I chose the upcoming release is because it's an upcoming release. I could have looked at pretty much any fighting game release and it would be a better value than this piecemeal thing.
Value is subjective but besides that, the depth of fighting games comes from mastering the ins and outs of characters and then mastering the match ups with every other character. The fact is, you're probably not going to do that sufficiently with every character in a week. Probably not in a few months even and by then another character comes out. Then another in another month.

While I don't disagree, it is disappointing in comparison to even older fighting games like SF2 which had 8 characters from the start.

Other games like SF2... which had a MSRP of $70
Averaging out to a low 7 so far... just about what I expected from Double Helix.
I'd honestly rather them price it at $60 and delay the game until it has enough characters + features, but I'm probably in the minority. It's just disappointing they had to rush it for the launch period.
