It's the 17th. It's been revealed aeons ago. I don't understand what is G4 attempting to do here.
 
In addition to creating proprietary technology to power Killzone 2, the team made sure to take in other game experiences and keep an open eye to other sources like films, books and architecture.

"When you're working on something like Killzone 2, which takes a lot of long hours, you don't get to play many games through to the end any more," said Hulst. "What we do here every Friday night is put the directors in the exterior house (an isolated home behind the bank equipped with plasma TVs and PlayStation 3s) and have FragFest at 5 pm. We have some beers and watch movies like Apocalypse Now or play the newest games like Resistance 2. We get to play together with the guys and break down the new game with the technology guys. We look at the effects and the gameplay. Gaming is as much a profession today as it is a hobby."

Fights tend to last a while due to clever AI on the part of the Helghast soldiers. They seem to have attended the same school of cover techniques you have, because they'll be spending just as much time behind crates and walls. What makes things interesting is that their behavior seems to change as the odds of their survival are whittled down. You'll see them get brave in a group and pop up quite often, but when they're in a bad spot they'll stay put and frantically blind fire while defiling your good name.

AI sounds great.

Best of all: the framerate does a good job of keeping up, with the only noticeable hitches arriving during an autosave between checkpoints.

framerate sounds stable. awesome.

What's even crazier is that they are doing AA on top of deferred rendering. That has never been done before.
Ah framebuffer, that's explain lot of works but still it is look so amazing esp all that in 720p30fps.

I listened to it as well and I refuse to believe it. More polished here and there I can accept, but night and day?! That's taking it over the top. I have a feeling though that once the retail game hits, the intro > 2005 CG trailer. :D
 
I just don't understand how polarized the impressions from ign and 1up are.

loving the new footage. Never got to play the beta (*sniff*) but from everything i've read from player impressions, and all the footage. I really think they pulled it off!

And man i think the 1up show is going to be a mess. Who knows what knocks or comments they'll make this time.

The footage we've just seen is from an old build. They played a new build in Amsterdam recently and looks even more polished apparently. :D
