No split screen either? WTF? This has been my only gripe with the game.

The lock on. It's soooo cheap. It's actually one of the dumbest things about the game.
kenta said:Getting pretty irritated by the stats bug, but mostly because nobody at GG has said anything about it on the beta forums.* Are the stats down for the rest of the beta? Are we all locked to our current progress? Is it a bug that's known and being worked on? What's the deal here?
(*) As far as I can see. The forums are so freaking slow and horrible to use it's not very easy to see all the updates they give unless they sticky a new thread about it
Are you kidding me?AranhaHunter said:No split screen either? WTF? This has been my only gripe with the game.
My stats haven't updated since late last week, I should be about 75 points higher than I am right now but I'm not going back into the game until it's fixed. As painful as that is, I just can't stand losing progressKittonwy said:You don't really lose stats per se, they just get delayed for some reason, I once had to go back to private but then the next time I log on I got back to sarge major

It'll be one heck of a rental, I guess.

It has been officially confirmed that the game will not have split-screen. Peeps need to vent and stamp their feet about it and move onPuck said:I didn't think splitscreen had either been confirmed or denied?
If it hasn't been officially confirmed that there won't be any, can we people stop whining?
I wish (and hope) the game has dedicated hosting. Like COD4, i guess they're expecting too many people and thus are going to use P2P.. but i am from AU and have to play on EU/US to find people at any time and it sucks because it lags quite a bit.
Pretty stupid that people do that, stack a team to win or just pick the faction with most high-ranks. Many times you can get twice as much points on the loosing side than the top player on the winning side, more competition on each kill for them - more 4-kills-rocket situation for us/me.Kittonwy said:I still think for the KZ2 beta it makes a difference if your team knows what they're doing, you can always quit out and rejoin the "right team" if you find your team is littered with n00bz. >:3
Ahh. Do you have a link?kenta said:It has been officially confirmed that the game will not have split-screen.

I remember the reason why IG didn't put it into R2 is because they wouldn't have been able to use 'magic' (cheap tricks) to make the game look and play better. And they wouldn't have had the resources, too.
There are no plans for co-op.

I'm gonna try again tonight...
So you're ok with not having split screen, even when it seems like all of the 360s big games have it?jett said::lol Get the fuck out.

This is the sole reason I'm even buying World at War, because I have nothing to play on the PS3 when my friends come over. We're all sick of Resistance 1 and CoD4.
What is the reason for not including it? The graphics are too good? It's been a fundamentla staple since Goldeneye to have multiplayer on console FPSs.
Split screen online is good, but that begs the question...why no splitscreen offline?

I hate split-screen, and with the advent of online-enabled multiplayer on consoles, have no use for it, so yes, I'm okay with it.Pojo said:So you're ok with not having split screen, even when it seems like all of the 360s big games have it?
Continue playing Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4, cross Killzone 2 off your list, and please leave us alone then dudePojo said:The mistake was clearly not allowing me to play the game against a friend who is at my house in the comfort of my own living room, which I've been doing since Goldeneye and am currently doing in Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4.

If it's something like "the maps are too big for 2-4 players", at least let it be known.

K2 does.
Only of the impersonal, lonely variety.

Inorder to allow my to play it, yes I would. I've been "putting up" with that for years now.UntoldDreams said:In fact... have you tried the beta yet? After trying it you might still want splitscreen but you most certainly won't want them to change the visuals.
So wanting to play games while friends are over is a crime now? Why not just make Rock Band online only? Or Smash Brothers? Mario Kart! Who needs friends! The game is vastly superior to any other shooter on consoles. The game in total package/presentation as a fps challenges Crysis. I'm sure GG has a reason for it. 360 can have all the split-screen mp in the world far as I care since online mp is the way to be. But if you're worried about appeasing friends when they come over, perhaps the wii is an even better choice for you.

Not sure why some games can pull it off and others can't.... but the fact that some don't indicates it's not an easy thing to do.
That's just the thing, though. I loved R1 multiplayer, so imagine my surprise when I couldn't find the split screen option in R2. Why? Insomniac won't give me a clear answer.recklessmind said:I don't think split-screen is as easy to do as most of you guys assume. Got it ?..Q: But my question is WHY was it decided to inlcude offline against bots but not a 2 player splitscreen like killzone 1 with bots? 2 player splitscreen offline with bots in kz1 was one of my favourite features of kz1. Just me and my brother killing bots. Is it a technical problem, or was it just decided not important enough? Because offline competitive is really important to alot of people.
Thanks for your time to respond to all of these, Seb.
A: Sorry, there is no split-screen I am afraid. The amount of work out-weighed the benefits. Would have delayed the game too much.

Resistance 2 has split screen multiplayer? Yes, it has co-op which is made particularly difficult b/c you can only have 2 players, and one pretty much has to be a medic. At least they half-assed tried, though.Nafai1123 said:Big PS3 games this season
R2- 2 player split screen
LBP- 4 player on one screen
Motorstorm: PR- 4 player split screen
Yea, I see what you mean. Whats with all those "big ps3 games" not having any split screen!?

And hey, the Motorstorm guys must be improving, because Motorstorm 1 didn't have MP.
EDIT: Thank you for answering that. Now the rest of you can stop assaulting me because I pointed out a missing feature in your messiah.
You're sitting there asking us why our Thanksgiving dinner doesn't have cranberry sauce, telling us cranberry sauce is essential for Thanksgiving.
