I cant believe nobody got the joke.
I was replying to Wollan's joke.

It was an undercover "rape time" joke.
I didnt want to say it because of the risk of being banned.

They gotta do what they gotta do. Considering the shitstorm they went through.

Oh and Killzone.com storyline section was just updated today!

Early Helghan Era: The Inheritors

In 2220 the heads of the various refugee camps come together for the first time to reform the Helghan Administration. 90% of the Refugee camps agree to collectivize their resources and labor in order to cooperate in the rebuilding of their civilization.

Disturbing medical problems are found to be common throughout the colony - high gravity, exotic radiation and storms have serious effects on the longevity of the human being. Medical support from the ISA is non-existent and indigenous facilities are too primitive. The wearing of masks for those who work in the outdoors becomes mandatory. Mask wearing becomes the sign of having a working class profession. Even with masks, Lung Burn (as the settlers call it) becomes the primary cause of death in Helghan over the age of thirty.

On a positive note, however, vast mineral resources are discovered by the settlers, mining fast becoming one of the more common jobs on Helghan

God!

I am willing to pay to play this beta.

Seriously.

No joke. Really wish it was attached to Qore.

I even offered $10 PayPal a few weeks ago for a code but never got any bites.

Just noticed a cool little detail for the first time. When someone fires their Assault Rifle, empty casings fall to the ground. They disappear pretty quick tho.

Never noticed that before!

Oh and I must say again, the Revolver is perfection.

It would have been cool if they released some type of back story comic or animated series prior to the game launch. I never played the orginal Killzone or Liberation on the PSP so I'm completely new to the universe. They could release some animated shorts on the PSN to get people familiar with the backstory & generate Hype.

The game looks so good they could have done something with the game engine to do some short background movies now that would have been some impressive shit...

I was reading in GI where players can mix and match primary and secondary badges to create a custom class, like a medic engineer. Is this available in the beta and if so, does it really help during the game?

Yea its in and it's helpful depending on what you want to do.
Tactician with the boost pill is pure bliss. Run to a spot really fast and throw down a portable spawn point.

How do you get the revolver anyway?

I would assume if you are playing with a clan the classes will play a big role, but for lone rangers I'm sure just a few class combinations will be used...

Sounds nice. A lot of depth to this game it seems.

Playing the game with studio monitor headphones allows you to hear lots of little details that you dont notice on regular tv speakers. I like how they add that little churp sound when your clip is low.

I'm actually gathering a force of fans to create a mini digi comic a la Metal Gear digital comic style. Wish me luck.

I can only hope GG has something similar planned.

Saw the 1up show on KZ2, while apparently from the impressions of people here his statements weren't exactly accurate, he did remain positive about it which I think more people are going to come away with after watching.

Not to mention in time this game should sway everyone ;)

Man I want to play the beta so bad.

I sure hope so, the backstory is pretty interesting. Makes much more sense now.

At the very least some of this stuff should be included in the official thread.

If you end up doing something, is it gonna be all panels, no voiceover? I can do some voiceover if you need.

10 kills with pistol in one round. x 8

edit: just had a great game with Kittonwy. We killed each other quite a few times :lol I think he got me more than I got him tho, every time I died I looked to see if it was Kittonwy and screamed "Noooooo0000000oo!"

Oh god. I'm never going to be able to get that unless there's a bunch of pistol only games. I imagine a scenario where I consistently get 9 or something.

That time when I came up behind 3 of you guys and sniped you all as you turned around from close range was awesome! :p

We're gonna have some epic clan games that's fo sure.

I was just going through the new timeline info at killzone.com. So the masks help them deal with the long term exposure to Helghan air, fair enough, that's a good explanation for why the invading ISA forces don't need masks on Helghan. But why then did the Helghan need the masks on Vekta? And how come Hakka didn't?

Actually, now that I think about it, was there some talk that Hakka wasn't pure Helghan?

They needed the masks on Vekta because their lungs were already damaged and they can't breath properly without them.

Hakka is half human. Can't remember where he was born tho, I'd assume Vekta if he could breath fine.

All of which reminds me of one of David Eddings' Sparhawk books. Badass alien races with breathing issues.

Hakka was half Heghan. I think that the Helghan army probably kept the masks because it was a part of their outfit. The Helghan general had no problem breathing Vektan air in Killzone 1.

Also, Hakka wasn't in Helghan uniform, hence, no mask.

I'm sure if Rico and crew stayed on helghan, they'd start to have breathing problems just like the Helghan.

The last few games I played the team is actually very good, even though we lost a couple of rounds but I rarely team-killed and was rarely team-killed.

Reading through the history on the Killzone website, and looking at the work that has gone into it, and into the Resistance history, I really hope they release the history with the game. Websites are fine, but so few people benefit from it. Force feed this shit to everyone who buys the game as it is good shit and people will be much happier if they have access to it - even if it is just some graphics and some worn out documents (like the intel in R:FoM).

I have been playing through Liberation and at this point I think I side with the Helghan people - perhaps not the Helghast as a regime - but I think that the cause of these former Vektans is more just than any agenda the ISA may be pursuing. I am playing as Templar and I know that he is a heroic person - but god damn has the propaganda brainwashed them all. It makes me think of the real world references and how people can be bent to a cruel will even though their struggle or motives are noble or just. I am so glad that propaganda plays such a big role in many elements of this game and mp as it reflects much more clearly on our real world than many bad guy vs. good guy stories.

KZ2 appeals to me on so many levels and I think that many people will be taken in by it. I really hope that Guerrilla make the effort to include a lot of alternate reality shit on the disc outside of the game (like they did with Liberation, but perhaps more immediately accessible - not requiring a significant investment in the pursuit of bonus objectives to unlock).

Templar was a lifer for sure, but the Helghan Regime, though their cause may be just their methods and outlook have shown to be brutal and without the same level of respect for life. On the other hand, a lot of helghan soldiers are simply fighting for their homeland at the point of Killzone 2, one would think. But Vekta is a democracy, Helghan is a tightly controled and brutal facist dictatorship, by the looks of it.

Though it's not totally black and white, which is cool.

I have no idea why people would actually choose the scope over the ironsights. Scope would only win out at extreme distances. Hopefully they haven't screwed up the ironsights (very few games get these right...).

I can see why. I fucking hate iron sights. Scope is far easier to see what's going on.

Yeah both teams were pretty awesome in those few games. On the market map, each team had a great balance of the different classes too. Your team placed turrets and air drones at all the right spots, and all over the place, they worked in small teams and covered the hot spots. There was always somebody flanking me I had to keep an eye on. It was really hard to snipe in that game, your team played it really well. I think you guys won that one as well.

I got team killed a couple of times in the Academy, but I think that's because I appeared out f nowhere and spooked them. :p
