Judging from the last batch of screenshots, RE5 most definitely does not have better graphics. There's quite a few issues with it, most notably the plastic looking clothing. I'll not comment on Heavy Rain and FF13 til I've seen more of them but they might meet or exceed KZ2.
Resident Evil 5 has never really shown graphics anywhere comparable to Killzone 2. Hell, it has problems competing against Uncharted still.

I keep getting boot votes because I dominate? I don't get it. I didn't lag at all in this game and I got like 2 votes.

Edit: How do you gain access to guns with iron sights? Is it exclusive to certain classes?
It might be because you're on the top of the list and people don't quite know what they can do in that screen yet. Dince your name is at the top and gets highlighted first, they might just be randomly pressing buttons and the X button is one of the first things they'll try.

It's how I found out about it...

Having to unlock classes is going to frustrate some, but once you get the hang of the game you shouldn't have much difficulty unlocking stuff. Doing this also encourages people to participate in all the challenges since you get points for them, and once you unlock the Medic you'll get a point for reviving people also.
I really dont get all the bitching about having access to everything all at once. Gamers have gotten so lazy. Unlocking stuff is part of what makes KZ2 so rewarding. The higher classes dont have a huge advantage over you. It just unlocks different styles of playing.

You start off as a grunt and work your way up. Along the way, you learn the core mechanics of the game and then when you unlock the other classes, you can apply your own style of play to it. It should make people WANT to play more and it should give them a sense of progression. You have a goal and you want to get to it. You have to work for it....
That's part of why this game feels so refreshing to me. I've always wanted a sense of progression like this.

It's like achievements/trophies with an ACTUAL PURPOSE. There's no arbitrary reward here. There's no "just knowing you got this reward makes you happy" kind of bs going on here. You're actually getting rewarded for doing certain things and there are a ton of rewards to be earned.

Achievements/trophies, to me, are worthless and mean nothing.
They need something attached to them to give them value.

Hey guys, how do you create an Assassination game which isn't over after 2 rounds?
That should be easy. It should be in the server options. You should be able to go to the game type and go into it's options and change how many times the target has to survive and how long they have to survive.

while I would agree with you, I just want to try out the different classes without having to do any work. Sure it might not be as satisfying, but I don't wait to wait until level 30 to use a scout class

Unlocking stuff in competitive modes is usually a load of bullshit and should FOAD. Most make it a treadmill.

Yep found it! There's a ton of options actually. Now I hope someone joins!

So it seems Clan GAF joined a tournament for Monday? Is it available to all members or just some? I'm down btw.

well i had been wanting to join one and this tourney is free so what do we have to lose?:D

I can see if unlocking stuff makes you above everybody in an unbalanced way. But leveling up isnt unfair or unbalanced. It doesnt take too long to unlock the classes and stuff.

It should just make you wanna work harder to unlock it. It also allows you to try out the other classes. I was loving the medic when I had unlocked it. I would never pick the medic otherwise.

IDK, this is a generation of "we want everything available now...why do i have to unlock it, i payed 60$...i shouldnt have to work to earn anything".

I'm grateful that GG is going against the grain and doing it "ass backwards". :D

Leveling up is stupid, and I don't see one good reason why anyone would want to defend the leveling.

Multiplayer being good period should be what is rewarding.

And at the very least they should balance the rewards out, healing teammates or yourself is a lot easier than killing 5 people with turrets. Or 5 people with air turrets. Capture and Hold badges nearly impossible.

Anyway some more gifs.

Leveling up isn't stupid because you're not going to capable of understanding how to play all of the classes properly without watching other people play and experiencing things first hand. There is a learning curve and the quicker you pick things up, the quicker you unlock said things so I don't get the argument.

Unlocking classes and weapons is awesome. It attaches a commodity to the higher-end unlocks which means being a medic or an engineer or picking up a wayward rocket launcher becomes that much more fun and exciting. Once you're playing at a higher level and everyone has unlocked everything, it becomes a game of mixing and matching the best classes/abilities/weapons for your playstyle and using them skillfully along with the rest of your squad/team.

It's an awesome system made even more awesome by the fact that the game is still loads of fun, even as a rank 0 grunt. It's fun all the way across the spectrum

Not to mention no specific class seems overpowered. It all just comes down to figuring out how to play to the strengths of each class, finding one that is your style and sticking to it.

It's a way to reward people for playing and playing well. I'm currently a medic and I have no problems competing against other players at higher ranks. Heck, I still use the default rifle.

Having to unlock classes and weapons is nothing but annoying. I consider all the achievements I had to do in TF2 to get the new stuff a complete waste of my time. It didn't make getting them any more satisfying or anything. A level playing field from the start should be enough if everything is balanced correctly.

All this talk of it giving you a chance to learn each class is just nonsense. I think GG feels presured to do something differenly if only to avoid BS from reviewers who complain of lack of innovation when I should really just boil down to the gameplay.

KZ2 is balanced whether you're playing with a room full of grunt up or whether you're playing the game with everyone at the top rank...and EVEN if you're playing with people that have all sorts of ranks.

I dont get how it's not annoying in single player but it is in MP?
If it's done correctly (NOT the way COD4 did it) then it works out great.

It will get unbalanced if one team is using badges that the other can not or is not.

So are we doing this GAF room soon? It's 2 am over here, I'm sleepy... nows your time to strike!!!

And I can use it as an excuse if I get whooped! :p

is there a reason you guys just don't do the rotating objective mode? is there ever an end to that mode? set number of rotations before map change?

You know what's amazing.

How nobody talks about the classes.

Someone tell me what Saboteur is like!

This is probably something that would obviously break the NDA and isn't obvious in the videos.
