I've heard they're around an hour, depending on the level.
I thought it was 11 levels, wth?

MvmntInGrn said:Likely 45min-1hr long. Standard fair. Fine IMO as long as those 8-9 hours kick ass. Not like it doesn't have multiplayer.
Would I prefer 20? DUH but it doesn't surprise me. Curious, where did the 11 number come from?
Wax Free Vanilla said:wth - only 9 levels at 25 minutes a pop?
in guerrilla games we don't trust![]()
SSM25 said:9 levels at 45 minutes each is like close to only seven hours.....that's waaaay too short
gantz85 said:hey look who it is, again
MvmntInGrn said:Shortest is 45. Longest could be 1hr 30min for all we know.
Mirror's Edge is like 7, Gears 1 is like 5 I hear.
Ideal? no. Hopefully it will be 11 but either way I am expecting a good experience.
recklessmind said:You'd think with the amount of crow that's already been served up by Guerrilla, people would be slower to call them out.
Wrong bird. It's turkey day, folks... :lol
SSM25 said:Sounds very good then, I really like the length of resistance 2's campaign and this should be around the same lenght.
Gears 1 is longer than 5, if I remember correctly.

That looks weird and non-killzonish...
My Arms Your Hearse said:I don't know what to say to you other than SUPER LIMITED BETA.
And newsflash: anyone who thinks they're hot shit in Beta is going to repeatedly have their ass handed to them on a silver platter once the game is released and hundreds of thousands of people are playing. You know, the people who have 300 thousand kills in COD4 with 70 days played and a 15 to 1 K/D ratio. I've never been in a single MP beta where I didn't do vastly better than in the released product. You're playing against a very small amount of people, and lots of gaming media (who are total scrubs).
I just think a 1 hit (no matter where it hits you) gun with extreme range is LOL. It's bound to dominate most of the maps unless they're specifically designed to avoid it. I hope to hell that thing is ultra hard to aim, but it's never hard to manage one measly hit, especially when the other person has no idea it's coming. One hit to the head? I'm fine with that. It takes aim and skill. In a game like this, you could argue a "heart shot" 1 hit kill. Everything else is completely lame and requires you to basically have a pusle to pull off.
And it's so easy to hunt for the hiding invisible sniper when, invariably, his entire team is between the two of you.
My Arms Your Hearse said:Gears of War is like 1.5/2 hours on the normal difficulty if you don't have to redo anything (maybe not even that long... seriously, it's short as hell).
WHOAguitarninja said:Okay wait. This just isn't true. Gears is not a long game, but it is without a doubt not "1.5-2 hours on normal". I've heard of speedruns on casual in that time, but the game when played properly is not THAT short.
In regards to Killzone...I can't believe people are already complaining about length (or more specifically, speculating about length, and then complaining about their own speculation). Atleast wait for the NDA's on the damned previews to be lifted before you start jumping to conclusions.

JCreasy said:Hey guys, have any of you been able to get lean and peek to work?
I've been trying to based on the how it was explained in one of the early demos, but I can't get it to work.
BTW, this game owns my life right now. It's already exceeded all of my highest expectations . . .
-viper- said:So Killzone 2 will have a 7 hour campaign? That's great (!).
Each level better fucking take at least 1 hour to complete.
edit: If each level is 45 minutes, then K2 will take 6 hours, 45 minutes to complete.
The game has been in development for far too long, and is that all they could conjure up in that time? Only features 8 multiplayer maps as well, doesn't it? Haven't they got 200 people working on the game? It doesn't even have offline split-screen.
Killzone 1 was a far longer game than that. Still will buy it, but that is so disappointing.

tempy?

depending on your skill and diff. ofcourse.

Damn ,MGS4 was like 3-4 hours without cutscenes and it was amazing.Private Hoffman said:How is that not enough?
Uncharted was about 8-9 hours, and that didn't even have an awesome multiplayer mode.
Halo 3 was like 6 hours, and Gears of War 1 was about 5. Gears of War 2 was about 8.
Seems about right to me. I don't mind a short campaign so long as it is awesome.
Fersis said:Damn ,MGS4 was like 3-4 hours without cutscenes and it was amazing.
8-9 hours is fine for a FPS shooter.
The replay value comes with the top-notch multiplayer mode, i want to thanks GG for putting offline bots, i loved Killzone 1 so much because of that.
Private Hoffman said:It's a good thing I've clocked in over 70 hours in the freaking BETA of Killzone 2. KZ2Obsessed has clocked in over 100.
That tells you how damn good the MP is. It's freaking incredible.
8 hours of single player goodness on par with uncharted, and multiple playthroughs on higher difficulties is A-OK with me. 8 hours is longer than most of the shooters we get these days
SolidSnakex said:It's basically as long as the majority of shooters coming out now. Their longevity comes from their multiplayer.
TTP said:Well, COD4 was longer.
Yeah, i beat COD4 on 6-8 hours.SolidSnakex said:What? I beat it in less than 8 hours. And one of the first reviews to come out for COD4 mentioned that despite how good the single player campaign is, it'll only take you around 5 hours to complete it. Shooters are often around 5-10 hours because all you're doing is shooting and eventually people will get tired of it. It's much better to leave people wanting more than to make people just wish the game would end.
TTP said:Well, COD4 was longer. R1 was (much) longer. R2 is longer. GOW2 is longer. I don't know to which majority you are referring to TBH. Of course I can't express a final opinion about KZ2 length as I didn't play all of it, but let me just say as I reached lvl 6 in the preview code and looked over the trophy list to see how much was left I had a huge "is that it?" feeling. Perhaps those last 2 levels or so are going to be so OMG awesome and the ending so good, you wont feel unsatisfied.

TTP said:This is assuming it really takes 8+ hrs to beat KZ2. Reaching lvl 6 took me about the half of that...
But I'm dancing too close to the NDA now so I should just quit![]()
Private Hoffman said:Reaching level 6 or beating level 6?
Cuz if you played through 5 levels, that could be about half the game.
TTP said:Beating lvl 6.
I have unlocked all the bolded trophies here:
Corinth Ribbon - Complete Corinth River on any difficulty
Blood Ribbon - Complete Blood Meirdian on any difficulty
Visarl Ribbon - Complete Visari Square on any difficulty

Suljeva Ribbon - Complete Suljeva Village on any difficulty
Tharsis Ribbon - Complete Tharsis refinery on any difficulty
