Do you think anyone actually follows that post and agrees wholeheartedly? If so, do you think the poster actually believes that wholeheartedly?

It seems like anyone with half a brain would realize that more meaning and content could come from just mashing the keyboard.

Exactly but it's fun to put out people like that sometimes, it's scary when you see how much people are like that one any platform, like it's their duty to bash whatever's not on their platform of choice.

i doubt the controls in sp are so different from mp that he won't have issues there (and his off hand comment did not seem optimistic). Actually TTP's are the only videos I have seen where the player actually makes use of iron sights (which I think are absolutely necessary in order to excel)

The controls are actually pretty different in MP and SP. MP lets you move around and aim a lot faster, and gets rid of cover. However, you're absolutely right in thinking that using your sights = vital to success. Each of the weapons act very differently at various ranges, so you'll have to learn the subtle nuances of each weapon.

Fights tend to last a while due to clever AI on the part of the Helghast soldiers. They seem to have attended the same school of cover techniques you have, because they'll be spending just as much time behind crates and walls. What makes things interesting is that their behavior seems to change as the odds of their survival are whittled down. You'll see them get brave in a group and pop up quite often, but when they're in a bad spot they'll stay put and frantically blind fire while defiling your good name.

Everyone is saying the AI is good:)

I'm not sure but I think I spotted some slowdown right at the end of the Tech interview on GT.

Right at the end the guy blows a helghan with a shotgun and it crawls. Or maybe I'm wrong.

I really love their interviews about the tech and the specs behind this game, kinda wish they'd make like a bonus round with only kz2 developers or something quite lengthy so we could get a bigger grasp of what's going on under there :)

*Not really directed at you*
but
Oh god, will that be the next thing people will attack?
Minor slowdown? "Oh god...slowdown on level 3 when there's 15 people on screen at once, this game sucks" kind of stuff.

One can only hope that they did one for the AI.

Gamespot wrote a great preview and accompanied it with great screenshots. I like.

Next : Art & Audio Interview

I so love these KZ2 media days :D

Thats the thing though. So much intensity, action and beauty and finally I noticed some slowdown, and who knows it'll probably be fixed by release.

Anyone else think it odd that Gamespot and Eurogamer gave very nice previews of the game while IGN (I know it was AU) didn't. I would not have put money on that bet.

But IGN (US) had a very nice preview on it though :)

Seriously, most games this gen have maybe managed to do one or two effects really well, be it textures, motion blur, lighting, physics, etc. The fact that GG have not only been able to implement true 720p resolution, AA, per-pixel motion blur, DOF, per-pixel particle physics, UNBELIEVABLE lighting and textures, etc. while maintaining 30fps on a console is completely mind blowing. Guerilla Games, you are true game developing gods :bow

Oh there it is :D

I love how the guy to the right jumps, out of fear and to brace for impact, right before he gets hit.

EDIT: Looks like the lightning hits his gun 1st and that scares him, then he gets hit directly :lol

Might be fun for the Gears of War fans.

Check out this guy's first game and the team for it.

Arjan Brussee Dev Director KZ2 and Michiel vd Leeuw (then named Michiel Ouwehand) Tech Director KZ2 coded Jazz Jackrabbit 1+2 for Epic Megagames. Not exactly strangers to Mark Rein & co.

yo i gotta say it . . .

I don't even think Final Fantasy XIII is going to accomplish the tech we see here. This lighting engine is just unbelievable.

Just know that I'm the biggest anticipatory FF XIII fan I know.

Genre is completely different and the game is multiplatform. Not exactly a fair or wise comparison to make in the end.

I hope so too, there was a few parts in the "edited" 1up video a long time ago, I hope we'll see more this time around :)

Yea but it's "freakin final fantasy". It's just supposed to automatically look good.
Killzone 2 was the one that was suppose to not look all that great and maybe be the norm for how games looked nowadays.

I guess you could substitute FF13 vs in there because it's single plat.

Ive read alot of posts (some from this forum and some from others) saying how the AI is stupid because the person next to them gets shot and they don't turn around. I don't know about you guys, but whenever i play any fps online, and the person next/behind me gets killed, i don't notice at all, even with surround sound. i only notice when i get hit. any of you guys ever notice the person out of your field of view getting shot?

In the beta I always keep an eye on my surroundings, that's why I don't died as much from snipers.

Those two GameTrailer interviews are so awesome. I love all that tech selling talk.
I want more of that too. This tech is bittersweet and I wanna know as much as I can about it. Stunning, all the processes they do.
