Oh, I thought you meant during actual gameplay, like in Mass Effect, for instance.

Sounds are awesome. Visuals are awesome. Though I have to point out that the preview version of the sky was much better. It looks more flat and still now.
The sky in preview version was really buggy though. That glow would flicker in an out all the time, it was annoying to look at.

Come on GAF. Show some class.

Anyway, once my demo is done downloading, and I know it will work on my PS3, I will give away my US code...maybe....Peace ya'll. :D

And no, she didn't see the toothbrush. She almost did....

I really like the shooting, the guns are good in every way, and just shooting them is a nice feeling.

The only problem is that the demo is pretty short and we have to wait for the full game for so long.

BTW a small clip will roll if you idle at the menu screen.

This disappointed me a bit, only thing to really do so.

So short, at the very least more difficulty setting would be nice. At 1.2gb already though, rather surprising.

The game feels so good though. :D

seriously, what are you doing

Two minds here - you posted her pic with her permission, which means it's open season.

or

This is the KZ2 thread and now that things are finally get back on the tracks after weeks of derailment, nobody needs a shitshow complete with toothbrush blasts. Himuro, I'm looking at you.

so

Let's err on the side of caution, shall we?

Carry on.

Nah, it's a SP demo and lasts about 5-10 minutes depending on how you play it. Fucking awesome though, and I've already gone through it a couple times.

Things I love:
- Graphics (duh)
- Enemies for the most part move around and don't sit in the same spot
- Squadmates make random comments when you perform something special (I killed a guy with a bullet to the head and one of my squad mates made some headshot comment lol)

Things I don't like:
- Frame rate isn't locked
- Slight delay to weapons (?)
- It's too short :lol

The only sticking issue is the slight delay in aiming but I don't know if it's just because I haven't played in a while and need to get readjusted to the controls. RE5 must have screwed up my motions...
See, I just played the RE5 demo after getting done with KZ2 a few times, and RE5 controlled perfectly (the aiming that is).

I don't know what it is.

The animations are great. Loved how they jumped over rails and of course the death animations. Zero alisaing that I could see. No problems with AI. Enemies used cover very well. I really enjoyed when the enemies would slide or scoot on their butts while in cover. No problems with framerate and no tearing that I noticed but I dont really have an eye for that. I had no problem with the controls.

The demo was way to short. The graphics were great but not the OMFG my eyes are bleeding that everyone was saying it was. That may have just been the level that they had chosen for the demo. If you leave the demo on the start screen it shows a much better looking area where you are fighting a big machine gunner guy. That would have been a better choice for the demo IMO.

SO are the pre order codes not working, are they for a later date? Can anyone please help me make a new psn account EURO please.

Wow, there's ton more "weight" in the single player than the multiplayer.
It feels good though. Tried Alt 2 1st but i'm about to try to get used to the default setup because the cover seems sorta weird with alt 2 right now.

Hm, I'm definitely not liking having to hold L2 down to crouch against cover. Is there some option that lets you just press it once so you get glued to the wall?

I also agree that default controls are best. Having no problem with it and doesn't feel clunky to me! I love using the iron sights for precise aiming.

Just finished my second play through of the demo and I'm very pleased with the presentation. It looks better than I thought it would on my tv. At first the cover system was confusing to use, but after playing the demo a second time I finally figured out how it works. It's not difficult to shoot while still attached to cover it just takes practice. With aiming I had to change the sensitivity because it felt very sluggish. I don't know if anyone else had the same feeling. The demo isn't long my first time took about 12 minutes. I do like how the characters say something different every time. When I was climbing the wall the first time the guy said, "Hey! Watch my hair." and the second he goes "Don't drop me like last time!" Small things like that are pretty cool. It's going to be a long wait until February 27th.

You can't in the demo. :(

Huh, i strictly remember being told that completing the demo on normal would somehow unlock a higher difficulty.

hm.

EDIT: also, is there 1080p scaling? How's that looking if it's there?

Really? I have never noticed a frame drop in the whole demo, except in that corridor when it loads next part. I was actually quite stunned how smooth it was considering the absolute chaos that it had to render at times. Didn't notice any delay with aiming either. I think it's just the kind of acceleration they chose to make everything feel a bit more massive.

It took me a solid 10 minutes to talk my wife through the process of inputting the gamestop code.

"There is an icon for redeem code in the top right......do you see it?"
"Theres nothing there."
"Its there trust me"
"....Its not here - Wait I found it. Ok so now what"
"Hit X when you are highlighting the first box."
"How do I capitalize?"
"What?"
"How do I do a caps lock?"
"Wait...where are you?"
"Input code?"
"Ok....so dont worry about that just type it in"
"Is this an 8 or a B?"
"Uh....how about 8"
"Ok now what?"
"Hit start"
"The little triangle?"
"Yes, the little triangle"
"......."
"You there?"
"Yeah, nothing happened"
"What do you mean nothing happened something had to have happened?"
"No nothing"
"......."
"I'll try it again"

etc etc...

I thank god Im not an over the phone computer tech.

The Guerilla guy said that competing the game would unlock the highest difficulty, Elite, in the latest interview. Maybe that threw you.

Yeah, I remember this too. Where's the unlockable difficulty I was promised, GAF? Where?

The controls were perfect for me. I always play on low sensitivities so the default was pretty much perfect. I really wish you could toggle crouch though. I really, really do. Maybe you can and I missed it?

That menu screen is idiotic though.

Meh I'm not feeling the controls at all. Sluggish even with high sensitivity. Turning feels really weird.

Everything else is pretty good but the controls are a bottleneck.

And I actually messed up the order:

I ran to my PS3 first, before getting her the towel. Yeah, I left her there to dry.....err.....drip :lol

She is laying on my dead looking right at me as I am writing this too :lol

This thread sure took an interesting turn :lol

Just played the demo. The AI is a lot better than you expect it to be once you actually have the controller in your hands and are playing it. They are smart; you can't stay on the same piece of cover for too long. They will flank you or throw grenades. The battles are REALLY engaging and dynamic, and that's the best litmus test for great AI. KZ2 has some of the best AI I've seen in a FPS.

The part where the Helghast are getting out of the tanks shows off how rich and dynamic the AI is. Guerilla Games nailed the intensity of the battlefield like no other game.

Cover system works great, the controls and animation feel fluid, and of course the graphics look great as we all know.

Short demo serves as a cock tease, but I'll be playing this demo like a million times before the game comes out. :lol

Question: What exactly do people mean by control lag? Like you hit the stick and don't move or its delayed?

Not feeling that here.

I think they must be talking about acceleration. Mine respond just fine but I can see where people would complain about how long it takes to go from turning very, very, very, very slowly to turning quickly.

I'm fine with it, just have to adjust my style for multiplayer.
