KILLZONE 2 - input lag now? if you want a reskinned COD4, go play WaW

I can't believe it is real. Some gamers do start to convert for PS3 just for this game.

At first, I did not believe what people are posting anywhere in the net. What I read on the net is "I traded my box with couple of games for PS3 and Killzone 2 pre-order."

Today, Monday morning at work. I see 2 of my co-workers brought in the 360 system and with couple of games, 1 with a PS2 and couple of games. After lunch and meeting with my Boss. The Boss wanted to know why they brought in a game console at work.

So, I walked to my co-workers and find out why. At first sight I don't see a 360 system nor Ps2 anymore, what I saw was a 2 PS3 system and 1 of them reading the Pre-order card with Demo code. I reported back to my Boss and said: "The guys brought it in for trade, traded for another game console. During lunch time." The Boss replied: "For a Wii?" I replied back:"Not sure. It's still in the shopping bag and I just asked them not to take it out from the bag."

Hmm I wonder if this will happen again when God of War comes out. PS2 owners will finally convert to PS3.

so there's this flow-chart of the rank progressions floating about... i don't have the time to dredge through this entire thread, but could someone point me to a post (or several posts) that discuss what happens if a noob were to join the game against a team of say higher-ranked players (with better equipment / abilitiies)?

what has Guerilla Games done to ensure that a noob player (or a player with less time to invest in KZ2) have an equal footing against a higher-ranked player? Or what investment (in time) does a higher-ranked player have that makes him/her standout against the sea of plebs?

His gun is the blurriest part of that, so he's probably moving. He probably didn't have to put down the controller to take images of the game since it's direct feed.

Yeah I suppose the gun was moving a bit but the bg is still a bit more clear in my pic. I was just curious though because I figured direct caps would look a bit cleaner.

You only have to check a couple of pages back for this :p

But, by default online games are set to "my rank only" so you only play with people on the same rank as you who have unlocked the same classes and equipment as you. When you go up a rank, then other players of that rank will start appearing in your games by default, so you're always on an equal level.

Plus, the game is very well balanced and the starting weapon is one of the best weapons you can use, in fact if you're a really good player you don't even have to use a class at all and can just go into any match with just the standard rifle and be the best player in the game. No one is really over powered at all. Every class has weaknesses and strengths.
 
I bought a surround sound system for this game. Hype grows every day...

Honestly, I'm looking forward to playing the demo with surround sound. :D

Silly to hate an anonymous person on the web..but wasn't he banned before some other big Sony release (LBP or R2)?

I think maybe he gets a little to excited when Sony exclusives hit :D

What was he banned for?

On topic, what am I missing with the Alt 2 setup? I have zoom set to toggle and find I am using cover better than the default setup.

Just a question, what if players come in later to the game (thus having low rank players are rare) and are forced to play with higher rank players?

Yes I agree that all classes have strengths and weakness, but what strength does rifleman have? I don't see a badge for him to carry more ammo, or anything at all. (Unless for example rifleman can hold all weapons but medic can only hold assault rifle or smgs)

At least in BFBC, although you are quite gimped at the start (most of your class secondaries require unlocking) but it's pretty fast to get them and you still have a choice of classes to play as.

I do hope this game does not become MGSO in this respect.

Ok after searching wiki and doing some research. I found out that the rifleman can use most primary and secondary weapons (more then the specialized classes). I guess it's kind of balanced in that aspect I guess.

Well if the game keeps selling well after release I doubt there'll ever be a point where there's no other same rank guys to play with, but if there are a shortage you can fill up a game with bots and get points and go up in rank that way. You only need 1 other human in a game to get points from the match.

But also as I said earlier, none of the classes are really overpowered compared to the standard rifleman class, and the standard rifle is so good that you can go into any game with any of the top classes and still be the best guy in the match if you're good enough.

But the strength of the rifleman class is that you get a greater selection of weapons, iirc you only start off with the 2 standard rifles initially but can unlock more. The rifleman can eventually use rocket launchers (which normally only the Assault can use) and Light Machine Guns (which only the rifleman can use). Their weakness is that they have no abilities.

I think for noobs, learning the maps and finding the best tactics for each objective on each map is more important to keep up with everyone rather than unlocking classes. And this can be done offline with bots.

Kitton has been laying low lately on GAF it seems, I hope he'll be on KZ2 a lot when it hits. Hoffman will be because he is ALWAYS on the demo...And I thought I played the demo a lot :)

I wonder why he got banned, I'll have to send him a message later.

I think its the same. I know I have him on my list as well. Guess the KZ2 info topic is as much of a minefield as that one offtopic topic.

Hopefully everything returns tomorrow by the time the official topic hits.

At that Time I only played it near 12 :lol

I'm on my 18th right now.
 
I just decapitated every single Helghast in the wave that comes while Garza is opening the door at the end of the demo. I got one as he was sliding down the rope. Input lag my ass. Love that rifle.

Er....I am over 50 now :p I wouldn't be at all shocked if Hoffman was over 100, I take breaks to play Valkyria, but he's like constantly in the KZ2 demo.
