They updated two more

Loving these designs. They're really putting the new polygon pushing capabilities to good use. Also refreshing to see such diversity in characters given the monotony of soldier designs in most military shooters.

what you don't like them spikes?

it's not the ISA/VSA fault they can't get a stylish fashion designer in the legion like the Helghast :P

Edit: how the helghast have button like circles around their scouts body for camo it seems that the ISA chose spikes

if your special ability is to fully go invisible, what is the point of the Gillie/Combat uniform hybrid, seems unnecessary

I am guessing the spikes or buttons are supposed to be the devices that projects out light and enable them to cloak. The infiltrators from the first trailer also have a ton of buttons on their uniform. All other combat class don't have those. Nice little detail I guess.

Now that looks cool.

Yeah, GG set the pace in KZ2 with FF-off, Rocket Assault, 32p matches on Tharsis and BG. People kept going to the official servers and the community that built up around the beta (ff-on and smaller player counts for smaller maps) died out fast. At it's height, KZ2 did have a really good selection of custom games, with 24p proving to be the sweet spot for all maps except maybe Pyrrhus. Throwing up an open custom would often fill up very quickly even if you limited class load-outs, turned on ff and cut the player count.

Once the community started to decay, we saw a lot more Radec 32p on repeat, or all maps with 32p just so that there were people playing (things dropped off fast and the community was only supporting a few servers at a time). Going back after KZ3 released, and you could only find a handful of servers, all rotating through 3 or 4 maps. 32p was a requirement at that point in order to ensure that anyone who wanted to play could actually find a game. The player count didn't make things better, but it was that or nothing at all.

I really hope that GG releases a DLC map pack with Salamun, Beach Head, Arc Tower Landing, and Southern Hills (maybe Suljeva as well). The DLC in KZ2 was generally fantastic but didn't get the community support it needed.

Damn - I am going to have to get back into KZ2 (and maybe some 3 as well). Between them, Mercs and Shadow Fall, I may be playing Killzone for the rest of the year!

The reason you see 32p maps with Radec is because lots of people find that the most fun. It's chaotic and there's a high kill rate. Hard to accept I know. Saying 32p was a requirement to get a game doesn't make any sense since a smaller game should fill up faster, but the majority wanted to play 32p games. It was just the most popular game type and defined the KZ2 experience.

Anyway, unfortunately seems it's set in stone it's going to be 24p and they are not even considering a 32p option, so see how it goes. I just don't think it's going to have anywhere near the same appeal as KZ2.

so what are the multiplayer classes going to be in Shadowfall, anyways?

The Assault class aims to be “in the middle of the action,” while the Scout class wants to “strike from the shadows.” The third class, Support, is the “real team player,” with the ability to heal fallen comrades while contributing only moderately to the offensive success of a given team.

I really like all of the character designs from SF. The terrorist Helghast's stuff is obviously cobbled together from civilian sports gear, while the VSA/organized Helghast designs are quite varied and remain true to the older styles from the previous games while being blended with the more advanced tech of the time when SF takes place.

Holy crap at the new screens....the use of colour is a freakin’ miracle! Just amazing!

The character designs are also top stuff. Man, I'm getting pretty excited for this now.

Is there any multiplayer gameplay footage from gamescom for this game. It looks incredible in screenshots but I have yet to find footage of it in motion (besides the multiplayer trailer).

I hold the Killzone series in very low regard after being completely underwhelmed by 2 - enough to skip over 3. I am now considering keeping my PS4 pre-order because of these screens and the promise of 60FPS multi. I am also sort-of regretting not pre-ordering this at $39.99 when I had the chance.

So predictable to see BF4 not living up to KZSF visuals. I'm not dissing DICE, it's a MP launch title after all. But people expecting comparable visuals (or better!) after them only demoing PC builds until friggin August had it coming.

I think we're still waiting, sadly. I really need to know how this plays.

The only reason why I haven't already pre-ordered is because I am waiting for actual unhindered gameplay along with more information regarding details like class descriptions and abilities, etc.

I want to believe that this isn't another KZ3 situation, but before I pull the trigger I want to be sure. Otherwise every single thing I am hearing about this game is phenomenal.

The visuals look great tbh... but I'm not digging the low fov, slow movement, and slow strafing speed. It is just not the type of FPS I am looking to play tbh. If I do get a ps4 for another reason I will pick it up but it isn't a system seller for me.

Looks great. Killzone is the only game I've seen which justifies 30fps and is actually running at 60fps!. The multiplayer looks stunning. It's a shame they couldn't get the frame rate up there for single player.
