Killzone Trailer not even done by guerilla games?

keep grasping at straws.

so anyone who claims killzone was pre-rendered is a fanboy?

Go and read the thread at cgtalk.com where people who work with cg on a daily basis say that it is pre-rendered from looking at various aspects of the trailer, the article from ign ps3 editors themselves which say it is most likely pre-rendered and then the comments from one of the fucking developers himself saying it was pre-rendered.

How do you explain the screenshots that show those exact scenes?

The footage certainly had a realtime feel to it. The way the video abruptly cut to the short landing sequence, the way the craft exploded right after, the way the video cut to the gameplay view, the less-than-CG quality flamethrower effect, the "early" looking bullet hit effect when he shoots the guy on the bridge, the imperfect voice syncing, and the very in-game looking Killzone-style FPS perspective and screen movement...

There is a strong chance that this is actually realtime.

Still, the Killzone video seems just too beutiful to be true. Hope they will show some kind of proof, because that's the only one demonstration I don't buy for a second is real-time.

I think the flames do tell something about the video, that while it is prerendered, they were trying to make it look like real gameplay. They must believe they can get it pretty damn close.

I haven't seen people this nervous over a trailer since DC fanboys went apeshit after seeing the MGS2 trailer.

I totally agree with this man.

Anyway it's not just Killzone. Heavenly Sword and MotorSport easily prove the PS3's hardware superiority. And Square's tech demo was also an indication of what to expect. Let's not forget people: Sony's PS2 tech demos were proven right (it took them some years but they were surpassed), MS's were not.

Because its the same damn thing. Back when MGS2 was shown at E3 2000, DC fanboys got pissed that a single video took all the spotlight away from their system. Now its E3 2005 and Xbox fans are in full damage control because a single video has taken all the spotlight off their system.
this video took away spotlight from 360? where? when? Not in the mainstream or real world.

Seems like it just allows alot of blabbering among zealots in a couple posts in this forum until probably the Nintendo's PC.

LOL what a bad analogy (along with mentioning the DC in the first place).

It's funny how the same people in the GoW trailer thead swear up and down that it's realtime.

Even though Killzone doesn't look much better and it's on a system that's twice as powerful.

I think it's CG as well, I just don't see the freaking Killzone developer visually crushing both Insomniac and Epic to that degree.

You mean proof that its real time? Can't find any. Do you have one?

The killzone 2 demo was exciting even if it's not realtime. People want to be WOW.
Sony delivered.

case closed
If being wowed should be the only goal then MS and Nintendo should show a FMV of porn. Talk about shock and awe.

Almost everything shown for 360 and PS3 weren't based on actual gameplay engines and are just hopeful targets. The key point is that the PS3 stuff showed more exciting hopeful targets than 360's hopeful targets.

lol @ this thread. I saw some kind of flickering or shadow glitch on the players gun on the demo, pop ups, the fire effects look terrible too.

Wow if that's CG, Sony sucks if that's cg. fucking liars

There is a difference between showing games in it's ingame engine and showing FMV.

TJ Hooker on the other board had a great point

"What I don't understand is that UE3 was by far the most impressive game shown on PS3 from a technical standpoint

Better models and better lighting than Killzone 2

All this in under 2 months and everyone accepts this is real time

Yet the less impressive Killzone 2 (which admittedly had better 'direction') isn 't real time?

It's the same problem MGS2 had - technically it was good but direction wise it looked so fantastic from the trailer that no one could fathom it running on the PS2"

I have to wonder why would you make CGI with pop-in, bad lipsync, and second rate particlel effects. But hey lets all go back to beleiving random guy, from CGTalk, they dont have any fanboys overthere ( thinks of 3d software versus threads which aren't even allowed because of the fanboyism ) :rolleyes

Because they didn't have the time/resources to rerender those frames to fix the errors? You do realize that CGI has rendering errors too and often needs to be rerendered to fix them...

This man speaks the truth...Although I think the Killzone target was a little too hopeful :)

I dont think it's any secret that the Killzone sequence was scripted. And obviously everything was prerendered on a dev kit since the PS3 hardware is incomplete.
Just like the MGS2 demo when it was shown.

:lol @ the xbots trying to stave off the Sony juggernaut, shouldn't you be cooing over your system's showing instead of attacking the mighty PS3 and it's software? Hell, internet gaming forums are full of damage control, everbody's talking about Killzone and PS3, well done Sony.

I like how over time, to the naysayers, the initial PS2 demos have become these unattainable, all powerful gifts from the gods that were never achieved. By early 2002, they weren't impressive at all anymore. Heck, Twisted Metal Black in June of 2001 impressed me more. Yet, three years later, they still have the hater mythos about them. Now the PS3 demos are creating the same atmosphere. Good stuff.
