Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 rolls out new forum rules to curb toxic behavior, which immediately sparks toxic behavior

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 publisher Deep Silver has rolled out a new code of conduct for discussions in the game's Steam forums, forbidding discrimination, hate speech, and harmful ideologies, and warning of possible permanent bans for those who break the rules.

"We are grateful for the vibrant and passionate discussions that take place here," developer PLAION_MY4NH wrote. "Your love for this game and its immersive world has forged a unique and thriving community. To ensure that our forums remain a welcoming place for all, we are introducing a new set of community rules designed to maintain smooth moderation and foster meaningful, respectful discussions."

"Occasional swearing" is fine, they added—Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is an M-rated game, after all—but users are urged to "keep it reasonable." Other broad points of acceptable behavior include the sorts of things typically seen in forum rules: Stay on topic, respect others, no "modern political or religious discussions," and just generally don't be a jerk.

Zero Tolerance for Discrimination

Discrimination in any form is strictly forbidden. This includes:
  • 1.1 Racism: Prejudice or hostility based on race or ethnicity.
  • 1.2 Sexism: Discrimination or hostility based on gender or sex.
  • 1.3 Homophobia and Transphobia: Hatred or prejudice directed at LGBTQ+ individuals.
  • 1.4 Ableism: Mocking or belittling individuals with disabilities.
  • 1.5 Ageism: Discrimination or prejudice based on someone's age.
  • 1.6 Religious Discrimination: Targeting individuals for their faith or lack thereof, including but not limited to Islamophobia or Antisemitism.
  • 1.7 Classism: Judging others based on their social or economic status.
  • 1.8 Colourism: Bias or prejudice based on skin tone.
  • 1.9 Body Shaming (Sizeism): Mocking someone's body shape or size.

No Hate Speech or Harmful Ideologies

We stand against all forms of hate speech and dangerous ideologies. This includes:
  • 2.1 White Supremacy: Advocacy of racial superiority or supremacy theories.
  • 2.2 Neo-Nazism: Promotion or support of Nazi-related symbols, beliefs, or ideologies.
  • 2.3 Encouragement of Violence: Posts that glorify, incite, or encourage harm toward individuals or groups.
  • 2.4 Harassment: Repeated or targeted attacks, threats, or intimidation.
  • 2.5 Glorification of Harmful Behaviour: Including but not limited to self-harm, suicide, or abuse.

"Any posts, comments, or behaviour perpetuating these harmful ideologies will be removed, and offenders will face swift action," PLAION_MY4NH wrote. Consequences for violating the code of conduct will range from warnings and post deletion to temporary or permanent bans from the forum.

Hey cool, another place on the internet where strangers will tell you what you're allowed to say.

Here's an option: shut the fuck up and don't post. Problem solved.

Steam forums are dumpsterfire, although those Plaion rules seem somewhat ridonkulous. But mostly they boil down to "don't be a shithead" so of course shitheads start trolling.

Show me a site where it's mandatory sex scenes? Worst case scenario for people that are upset it about this, is that it's like it BG3 and it's totally optional. For a game that sounds like you have unlimited freedom, what's the problem with that?
Yep, one dude posted some theories about why game "might" get banned and now apparently we have hot and steamy unskippable multiple gay scenes in the game. Sigh…

My how the mighty have fallen......a game that had so much potential and many people excited now in just a matter of days has been pretty much confirmed to be full of woke, bullshit as the creator has seemingly pandered to the rainbow heads.

Disappointing, but also great to see the gamers taking their hobby back from the activist shitbag devs. I hope this game Concord's hard.

One influencer you mean? And game is still up for preorder , at least it was as of yesterday?

You're right.

It is still up for pre-order on Xbox's Saudi website, at least.

Like I said in the other thread, these guys are REALLY late to the party and they did NOT come correct.

Vavra took years to build his "anti-woke" grift, but it's just going to take a couple of weeks for the negative word of mouth regarding Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 to spread. Seeing a lot of "negative reviews" on Steam by the end of February.

Another one fucking around and finding out. Well deserved, of course. After everything that happened last year, and continues to happen right now, Warhorse sticking their head in the sand and acting like it's 2020 is reason enough for me to wish them the worst failure possible.

Exactly, and he didn't. He made a public statement that danced around the whole thing and basically boiled down to "trust me bro"....lmao fuck you man, not anymore.
He doesn't owe you shit, the game will speak for itself is his point. He has every right not to want to spoil events happening in it.

Why was this even necessary? Steam already has rules against hateful speech. The mod is just crashing out because they are probably woke and are upset the game is be labeled as not. These people are losing the end game of the culture war and are in complete meltdown.

Youre missing the point.

It takes two seconds to confirm or not confirm that there is gay, unskippable content in the game. Noone is asking him to spoil the game's story.

He's being a vague asshole on purpose, most likely because he caved on his morals to the wokies for money and now it will bite them in the ass. It's been too long now without a simple yes or no answer.

Limiting freedom of speech wont make people want to buy your game.
There's no such thing as freedom of speech on private forums in the first place, there's always rules you need to follow if you want to be a part of the discussion. Most of the rules they highlighted aren't even anything odd, just basic human decency stuff that are probably there in the steam ToS as well as most other forums including GAF.

Every cutscene in the first game was skippable;
The game is not banned anywhere as of now;
Stop being such a dumb snowflake hurt by a possibility of gay character/scene (particularly when first game already had couple gay characters)

Honestly don't care what a random forum policy is and the first game had all sorts of crazy shit. I'm not a fan of sensory or anything like that but I'm a fan of being a grown ass man and behaving yourself.

I know people that will literally complain that they can't just say anything they want because it's a free world and not weighing all of that versus being a respectful rational person that just doesn't go out anywhere and talk the same way they would on an internet forum behind an internet alias.

Let this game come out already as this is a nothing Burger of a topic

Antiwoke grifters are upset now, heh.
Anyway, moderating steam forums is next to impossible, to be frank. Lots of trolls and players could make sock accounts and keep the convo going.

The Steam page went from people talking about the game to unreadable pages filled with nothing but people discussing the pinned ruleset. Most companies would be better off without "community managers".

At this point, I'm hoping for a mandatory hardcore gay sex scene that is quickly followed up by these people being burned at the stake. Whatever pisses off both sides of the culture wars the most

People actually use and care about steam forums???

Steam discussion forums are quite possibly the worst place you can visit on the internet.

It's easy to come out and say "that's not present".
And if there is an optional scene is that the end of the world? I can't foresee what circumstance would lead to mandatory scenes like that in this particular game.

No idea mind you if there is a gay scene or not, but people going crazy because "apparently" freaking Saudi Arabia bans something is unhinged.

Based on what?

Some sex option and few black characters in a fucking huge map? They won't even have a position of power? Its not like they did not exist, just very rare to see in remote bohemia. Kutenberg was a big city back then that is present in sequel and was not in the first time.

Naw I think its fine. Everyone can use their brain on the decision here. Same for when they also decided to not have peoples of color in remote Bohemia.

oh noes these morons are quickly running out of games to play, because of all the boycotts lol

The google list of DEI games is fucking hilarious. If peoples follow that they won't be playing many games.

I will disagree with that. They are extremely useful for smaller games where there is not much discussion otherwise, there not many if any walkthroughs and PC gaming wiki won't have any fixes listed.

No, a la Mass Effect or whatever. But it really depends and I think people are absolutely in the right to be skeptical consider, oh, the last 10 years or so.
