A major milestone for Warhorse Studios!

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II has officially surpassed 3 million copies sold, with a 93% user score on Steam. Combined with over 10 million lifetime sales of the original Kingdom Come: Deliverance, the franchise has cemented Warhorse Studios' position as one of Europe's leading AAA studios and a rising force in the RPG genre.
As Kingdom Come continues to grow, so do we - expanding our team, capabilities, and creative ambitions for the journey ahead.

Audentes Fortuna Iuvat!

The game has not been on sale on Steam yet, only on PSN where it was 10% off for a week, so these are mostly full price sales.

Most important stat though

3 million at full price is a lot of revenue. This game should have a long tail too. Hopefully there's a big expansion planned at some point along with the DLC.

Well deserved, amazing games and KCD2 best RPG I've played in quite a while.

That 3 million is just Steam right

I wonder why they haven't included console or if they have console has sold very little for them

How much better is 2 than 1?

I was enthralled by 1 for about 20 hours, did Theresa's DLC (and enjoyed it), and then my interest just fell off a cliff. I'm going to try to go back to it at some point but it was starting to feel sloggish.

It's more of the same, but there's more of everything and everything is better. More quests, better writting, better combat, more polished....

Basically a perfect sequel, imo.

My GOTY and probably in my Top 5 of all time. Nearly everything about it is improved from KCD 1 (story about on par).

With this and Clair Obscur, we're eating good; getting served by developers who aren't afraid to challenge rigid industry trends.

There it is. Games don't need to cost $300 million to make bank. They don't need to price them $80 either.
It cost less just because it's made where salaries are significantly lower. It still took 7 years to develop, so don't know what exactly you are championing here

Performance is also much better vs KCD1. If you don't want to play KCD1, I recommend watching recap on YouTube and going right for KCD2. You can always come back to the first game.

This game should have a long tail too.

According to Alinea Analytics around 3 million people have it wishlisted, so yeah I expect it will keep selling for years..like the first game.

Around $40 millions and less than 100 devs? Incredible huh? They make a great game and it's selling a lot who knew...

To be fair while the budget was around $40 million, there were 120-250 people working on it throughout the development.
It is cheap because marketing budget was tiny (biggest expense was the 30 second CGI trailer), there are no expensive hollywood actors nor licensed music and salaries in Prague are lower than in California.
It is however still a huge achievement. The game is much bigger and better than most games that cost three or four times as much.

I seriously doubt they spent 7 full years making the game full steam. And if you think that's the case, good for you.

The timeline was

february 2018 - first KCD released
2018/2019 - Warhorse works on DLCs and patches, while small team (mostly writers and design leads) do preproduction on KCD2
june 2019 - full team working on KCD2, starting at around 120 people, staffing through the years
2020/2021 - covid, whole studio works remotely, slowing down the work significantly
2022 - return to the office
2024 - announcement
2025 - release

Great game but I hate the combat when I play a game I want to feel like a god on KKD2 felt like a chump
It's an RPG, you feel like a chump at the beginning which then makes it rewarding when both you and the character get better and win tournaments and kick ass.
If anything the game is a bit too easy on the second map, but I suspect hardcore mode addresses that.

Yep, it's more like 5 and 2 out of that were during full on pandemic. And the game released in a very good state.

It's a 7 years gap between games. Who cares what they did in this timespan? The point is that they aren't exemplary of efficient development with release schedules like this.

So you're saying they only spent 40 million throughout 7 years while being inefficient. Make up you mind buddy, holy contradiction! I mean, if they had been efficient they would have made the game in 3-4 years for 20 million!

I'm not talking about money. I don't care how much they spent 40 million or 400.

Got banned on Era for saying congrats about this LMAO
lmao what

I thought they loved the game now since you can romance Hans (and it is better written than most games that have this)

You can get insane asylees from resetera but you can't get resetera from insane asylum I guess
