After watching the E3 video, I think it looks neat. Certainly can't be worse than Kirby Air Ride. As long as the action is challenging and varied, I can picture a decent game.
You mean it can't be much better than the Awesome Kirby Air Ride, you fool.
And yes, it looks great. One of the best looking platformers this gen. Screens don't do it justice.

:lol :lol :lol
The screenshots really don't do the game justice. It looks great in motion though. The final product should be pretty good, or at least I hope it is. Canvas Curse has rekindled my love for Kirby games.
I'm mildly interested. I enjoy the side-scrolling Game Boy Kirbys. I never played Crystal Shards, though, so I don't really know what playing a Kirby game in 3d is like (CS was in 3d, right?).

It was polygonal, but gameplay was really just 2D (well... I should say "path-based", the path could go in more than just a straight line, but Kirby always followed it like a side-scroller). This game looks like it'll be doing the exact same thing. (Some of those shots seem closely angled just for effect, like what HAL did with some of the SSBM preview movies.)
It looks pretty mediocre. I don't get the excitement about the video. But I remember olimario around KAR :lol This character has never worked on console in their last couple systems, imo.

Kirby 64 worked pretty well, though it was a bit slow (but not nearly as slow as Dream Land 3). If this game's comparable to that (and so far the pace looks a bit faster, more in line with SuperStar), it'll end up being one of the best 2D platformers this generation on consoles.
I do wish they'd have spruced up the SSBM engine a little though. There's no need for this game to look like it's from 2001.... why not do something like cell-shade it to mimic Dream Land 3's aesthetic? :/
