I love their games. I wish they would have a better engine tho, the visuals are not up to modern standards but their games are fun and I am looking forward to whatever titles they make

Best Japanese publisher.

Where is Dead or Alive though ?

There are some pretty funny mistakes in this slide. Bland instead of Brand lol.

NG and Nioh are on par. I never knew about this. Thanks for the info
Not surprising, the last Ninja Gaiden came during the PS360 era. Nioh is from the PS4 era and onwards where AA and AAA seem to sell way more. I'd bet you anything if 4 is good, it's gonna outsell Nioh and the previous NG entries, possibly even exceed 7.5M by itself over a few years.

The most surprising for me is Wo Long. That game wasnt received very well and was also on Gamepass. It was considered a flop and didnt have great discounts. I am suprised is sold 5 mil, almost as NG and Nioh.

I played the heck out of the SNES version of Romance of the Three Kingdoms and the Game Boy version of Nobunaga's Ambition. In this last one I played it until I had convinced every other ronin to join my forces and kept them all alive (something quite hard since some were in their seventies at the beginning of the campaign). Then I discovered some kind of bug where you could duplicate a ronin and it would have the age fucked up so that he would never die, once every other daimyo died he would be let in charge and you could continue playing forever.

I'd bet you NG4 and a NiOh 3 would sell around the same despite NG4 being on Xbox.

If you take a look at the income numbers in the slide below, you can see that this was just a PR talk. They're not disclosing any hard numbers, which is enough to say ROTR is indeed a flop similar to Rebirth, Veilguard, Outlaws, and the gang.

They're probably grouping it with the Nioh series, given that they compared the two directly.

I doubt it.

It will be released day one on gamepass.... KT putting Platinum to do the heavy work while Team Ninja works on other stuff is quite telling. MS probably funded the game and KT hired Platinum to do it for cheap.

I'm looking forward to playing Nioh (2). I just bought it yesterday after forgetting the game even existed. I was really interested in trying it but it was only on PlayStation for awhile....then I just forgot about it. Seems right up my alley.

It's coming out for PS5 and PC, no? Xbox is irrelevant.

It will be on gamepass for pc too. If Rise of The Ronin, an open world game, with Sony marketing on PS5 didn't seem to be that huge, I doubt that NG4, a niche title, with no Sony push will do as much.

Also, it will be a Platinum game and their last games... Well... Even Bayo 3, with Nintendo push, didn't do that well.

However, I hope I am wrong.

Seriously 14 iteration of ROTK and lifetimes sales of only 8 million, that's like 500k per iteration. Why do they keeping making them if it sells that poorly.
