Edit: this is clearly about the recent assassination event in Japan in which some fake news stations ran photos that the assassin was Kojima on the world's stage.

Don't turn this into a console war pissing contest.

KojimaProductions strongly condemns the spread of fake news and rumors that convey false information. We do not tolerate such libel and will consider taking legal action in some cases.

Off course they will, some people thought it was funny to spread misinformation that Kojima was the guy that killed the ex Japanese prime minister.

& Even a news outlet rolled with it.

Not sure who they will sue. In Japan it's much easier to win on libel or defamation, but not so much in other countries

Yep, this is some serious shit. Multiple outlets across Europe used his pictures as well.

Hope they get what's coming. Journalism has really gone down the shitter with the rise of the Internet. Being first is more important than being right it seems.
