Seems that the recent Down Town Nekketsu Monogatari EX was successful enough for Atlus, as they now have plans to re-release the whole Kunio-kun game series for the GBA in 2-in-1 volumes. The first one (scheduled for August) will include Nekketsu Koukou Dodge Ball Bu and Nekketsu! Street Basket ~Ganbare Dunk Heroes~, the second volume, Down Town Nekketsu Koushinkyoku: Soreyuke Daiundoukai and Nekketsu Koukou Dodge Ball Bu: Soccer Hen, while the third one will include Down Town Special: Kunio-kun no Jidaigeki Dayo Zenin Shuugou and Ike-Ike! Nekketsu Hockey Bu ~Subette Koronde Dairantou~.

Basketball is mostly what you'd expect: 2-on-2 (I think; could be 3-on-3) basketball with the fists flying, people being thrown about, and so on.

"Down Town Special: Kunio-kun no Jidaigeki Dayo Zenin Shuugou" is sometimes referred to as "Technos Samurai", and is very much the River City Ransom style of play... except set in the past and with a more confusing map.

Yeah, it's set in the Edo period IIRC. It's actually a pretty cool game but there's an obscene amount of flicker and slowdown in the Famicom cart.

If you've got a way to, it emulates very well on GBA.

The Technos basketball game was a freaking hoot. You could steal the hoops off the opponents backboard and throw it around so they can't score. Tons of odd stuff like that, backgrounds with conveyor belts and holes and stuff. Uneven like hell, but still fun.

I was just thinking a week ago how awsome it would be if atlus remade all the Nekketsu games. They better do EVERY FREAKIN ONE OF THEM including the other 2 beat-em-ups.

Ohhh you mean a real sequel like the one from lost levels. That game looked fuckin awsome and then Atlus had to show up with that crappy "upgrade". Bunch a Tossers.
