Laptops with Serial Ports?

Anybody buy a new laptop lately? I need to buy 2 laptops for work, but both of them need to have serial ports built-in. This seems like it's a dying technology for laptops, as I can't find any under $1500 with them built-in. I've speced out a couple with PC cards that give serial ports, but these can be a little shaky at times, so built-in is better.

Anyone know of any laptop series that has serial ports? Or has anyone bought a laptop for a decent price that had one?

IBM T30 was one of our models at my last job, and I'm pretty sure it had 1 DB9 connector, the t40s and up don't though (from memory) it was a while. you could try that.
my acer aspire 1801WSMi that I just bought has one as well. that was 1300 euro, but its probably not a suitable work laptop it's huge. I really like the laptop though, maybe the acer travelmates have them. I'd buy another acer.

Thanks, I'll check out the Acer's.

As for them possibly being too big, not a big deal. These laptops are for our shop floor, so beefy specs and size don't matter. All we need is a decent laptop with a serial port built-in. We need the serial ports because we use a device that connects to serial to program the vehicles we manufacture here.

Some Toshiba laptops have them (my Equium A60 does).

Can you buy serial>usb adaptors? Would that work for what you want?

We could, but it's in the same boat as the serial PC cards, they can be shaky with how and when they work. We've tried them in the past, and sometimes they work for us, sometimes they don't. It's definitely a possibility if I can't find something suitable with a built-in port, but it's a last resort.
