Last.fm/audioscrobbler problems...

bish gets all the credit :)
Why is it that it is only updating/uploading info for random songs? For example, I play album X, it will only upload the song data for tracks 1-5, 7-10, 12. I've used this service for years and have only recently noticed this problem. It doesn't have to do with the fact that the site updates slowly, it completely skips tracks once it does update. I've checked the log and it completely ignores the songs that don't get uploaded. All tags are clean and updated. Anyone having similar problems? (using winamp 5/audioscrobbler 1.10.10)

I remember having similar issues, but since I started using Linux Amarok´s the one managing all last.fm submissions and it works flawlessly. Are you using the official last.fm software? I'm pretty sure there's a couple of other options around.

I believe these are the official audioscrobbler protocol rules:

* Songs less than 30 seconds long are ignored

* Only regular file tracks (not streams) are submitted

* Songs are only submitted after they have been playing for 240 seconds, or are 50% through, whichever comes first

* If you seek forward or back within a track prior to submission, submission will not take place;

* If the Audioscrobbler server is under heavy load, the scrobbler software must comply with requests from the server to slow down and so may not submit immediately
