Last of Us 2 will NOT HAVE MULTIPLAYER.

that's a big WTF

Multiplayer in the original was so fun. Sneak around a school, run around destroyed buildings, and fighting against other players with traps and blunt objects.

Good. Never liked Uncharted MP. When a heavily narrative-driven cinematic game adds MP it stinks of marketing dictating to development "you need to have this box checked too!".
 
Well that's dissapointing. The multiplayer was alot of fun in the first game. It may have been a side dish, but it was a very good side dish.
 
It was great but not worth loosing sleep over. I loved it. I got all the trophies on ps4 and ps3 but it most likely has no appeal to majority of Last of US players.

Still disappointing.
 
Thank you, I only tried multiplayer in TLoU1 for the trophies, but ended up giving up on it and squeezing 100% out of the singleplayer content.

Well, that's really bizarre. It doesn't concern me TOO much, though it did add some extra longevity and replay value.

Personally I've just never understood the route of the original game having more content than the sequel, which it should stereotypically be the other way around...

For me its never a big deal. I rather stick with split screen multiplayer or just the singleplayer.

But I understand the feeling of those who like this kinda of stuff. Feel bad for yah.
 
Multiplayer DLC incoming.
I'm OK with no MP if they focused more on the single player game.
So people are going to skip the game with no MP?
 
I didn't even touch the MP in Last of Us in both PS3 version and Remaster, so I don't really care.
 
Multiplayer for me was always an afterthought. I didn't even know there was multiplayer until after I finished the damn game.
 
That is a pity.

TLOU multiplayer was an awesome surprise. If you never played it, I know it seems a stupid idea, like, why should you care about multiplayer in a very story centric game? But it was very good. Much better than it sounds on paper.
 
Never met a single person who has ever praised the MP but everyone made out like the SP was the greatest story ever told. It only makes sense to snip it.

Was the multiplayer (which is actually PvP?) of the 1st that good that people wanted something similar in the 2nd one (yes never touched it)?

I personnally am waiting for it as a single player freaking awesome experience, but that's about it (which is already a lot).

Factions had quite the fanbase. It was the closest thing we got to a modern SOCOM.
 
I too this day play the multiplayer side of the game. I saw nothing in the base single player experience that was impacted by the separate mp mode. It was a fresh take on fast paced ttk MP Games and had some novel mechanic that tied into the world really well.

I can hope they add it after the fact with the PS5 Remaster as mentioned earlier in this thread.
 
This is huge. HUGE.

Like others I won't loose any sleep over it but I thought for sure it would include multiplayer. I also enjoyed it quite a lot despite not being into multiplayer games as much.

Now the question is will it still have cosmetic DLC items for the SP? Like new looks for Ellie, new weapons, items, ect?

Good news indeed 😁👊 full man power went to Campaign which looks out of this world...just wish there was a guarantee launch with PS5 this holiday then I would be able to hold out on the proper version...you feel me.
 
lol @ people not buying this because of the lack of the multiplayer. Multiplayer games market these days is oversaturated with what TLOU Part II MP component would have been or similar, pick any. On the other side, how many and how often SP games of this quality we get? Hint: not that many if any and definitely not that often. I'm glad they chose no MP approach and focused on bringing SP as good as it can get. MP could've been good for a while, but guys think realistically, it would be no competitor to Fortnite, Apex legends and all that other BR shite. Are any of you still playing Uncharted 4? No? That's my point.

What exactly is "ambitious" about TLOU 2?
 
The fuck with all y'all freaking out over the multiplayer. First game won GOTY because of the single player, not the added multiplayer. People bought it for the single player too. Get outta here with your overdramatic doomsaying.

While I loved the first game's multiplayer, this is no great loss and I am fine with the decision since it means the campaign will be even better.

I can see multi being added as a standalone later, with all those delicious micro transactions we know and love.
