Late Night With the Devil Trailer

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss, this shit looks right up my alley.

Where dem folks that say Gaf is always negative about every movie???

I just saw this movie...

Best original horror movie concept I've seen in ages. The ending was a bit special but I give it a 9/10. Acting also superb! A must see and I think an instant classic.

Watched it a few minutes ago. Great concept. Decent execution, good acting. Nothing really special or omgwtf and ending was eh but overall quite decent. 7.5/10

- Looks very authentic to the 70's, production is top-notch even though it's (obviously) a low budget film.

- Acting is A-OK, nothing amazing but at the same time captivating enough.
Protagonist was the highlight of the movie

It's an OK movie at best, nothing revolutionary nor memorable nor something that you'll remember days/weeks after finishing it (like, say, The Witch/The lighthouse etc) as the whole demonic possession thing has been played to death and the whole talk show concept/schtick doesn't do enough with it to differentiate it from all the other movies of the same ilk in my opinion.

It's entertaining but kind of boring at the same time, the scenes I liked the most were

The demon face that appears through the static towards the end

and
the imagery of the possessed girl with the head split in half killing everything in the last few minutes

It's a solid 6.5/10 horror movie, I expected more due to the press' hype but...

Its like an extra long episode of Inside No. 9. (Season 8's 3 by 3 is kinda similar)

On the whole its very good, but its brought down a notch by trying to ram in a larger, thematic point at the very end. Which really jars with the rest of the movie.
Shame, because for 98% of its run-time it works beautifully!

I wasted my time watching the new Exorcist on Amazon cause it's free and it was even worse trash than the trash I expected. This is next on my watchlist list and then the Omen prequel.

Can vouch that if the premise sounds interesting, it's worth a watch. Nice to see Dastmalchian in a leading role and not as a creepy side character. He pulled it off.

Is this better than "When evil lurks" I just want to set my expectations properly.

Very different types of horror film.

Late Night is pretty lightweight and fun. When Evil Lurks takes itself seriously.

They are both well made on low-budgets, but their aims are so different its hard to make a fair comparison.

Personal opinion: When Evil Lurks is the best horror movie of the last few years, Late Night is nothing special, but it is very enjoyable and well put together. As I said in a previous post, the very end kinda lets it down because it tries to do too much. Its hard to explain without spoilers, and its not exactly bad... it just kinda breaks the gimmick that the rest of the movie is built around.

I agree with you on "When Evil lurks" best horror film I've watched in a long time. It starts with a bang and does not let up. Brutal but not in torture porn kind of way. I just watched the new Exorcist and I didn't think it would be so trash. It was Insidious Red Door level trash and I couldn't even make through that one. I'll give this a go. Thanks!
