it's listed in the JP iOS store with the following languages:

言語: 日本語、イタリア語、オランダ語、スペイン語、ドイツ語、フランス語、英語、韓国語

the bolded one means English; but I haven't tried it out yet, it's suspicious that the JP/KR versions are only 896 MB while the EU/AU versions are 1.51GB.

There's also still a chance the US iOS/Android version could have Japanese as a language option, I don't think the US versions have been released yet.

edit: Oh, and I tried switching the iPhone to Japanese but it doesn't change the available options in-game (EU iOS version).

Reading this OT just made me remember how much I missed Layton

three and a half years, man. I bought Azran Legacy on release date, I cant wait to begin this one!

Maybe I"ll double dip just to get that sweet 3ds case

Nvm got it to work had to download root cloaker modules to bypass it. Goddamn it's been a minute since I played layton games, the first puzzle made me use all 3 hint coins lmao

Here are the details for the IAP in the game:

There are currently 15 sets of costumes you can buy individually. Each set comes with a puzzle. There are also two bundles for Sets 1-10, and Sets 11-15. These are cheaper than buying individually but if you buy any of the individual pieces you CANNOT buy the bundle it is in anymore. The pricing seems kinda high, and if you buy both bundles, the total cost of the game would be around 40 bucks, which would put it on par with the 3DS retail game.

So I guess the question is how much you think 15 extra puzzles + 15 sets of dress up stuff is worth!

Quick and dirty OT update done, they sure didn't put out a lot of English marketing material and copy...

I'll update the OP tomorrow with better (hopefully English) graphics and make it a bit ”purdier" ;)

not sure, it shows me the price in local currency because Google stores always check your location. EUR17,99 in my case.

Its possible the game isn't fully up yet, sorry if that's the case but it should only be minutes now. The link didn't work until it went live just now. Same thing happened with the JP/AU/etc Google stores.

Gah, I don't know if I wanna bite now or wait for the 3DS release. Would be nice to have, especially on my phone, since I need my puzzle but splatoon 2 is right around the corner.

Mine is 1.16GB, as listed in the Play Store. Malaysia.
How is it possible to get different size?

This post seems to imply they're paid dlc on the 3ds too(?) Unless they're different costumes or most are free in the 3ds Version etc

Would like impressions how this is on iPad vs iPhone. So the graphics look great on an iPad or will the mobility of phone win out? Although I don't play much out of the house..

I could give two fucks about the clothes, but how many puzzles is 15 puzzles compared to the full game? Is that a decent chunk more?

It looks like you can transfer saves back and forth between the two with a Level 5 account, so it looks like you can use both as it suits the situation.

If it's anything like previous Layton titles there should be over 100 puzzles ingame with plenty of free daily puzzles

Fake edit from the android store -

"The largest collection of puzzles in any Layton Series title" so that should mean over 150(?) Base puzzles at least with 365 daily puzzles.

Azran legacy have over 500 in total with all the daily stuff.

You forgot about VAT (which doesn't explain the full cost. Should be £15.99 at most imo)
